To be perfectly frank, honest, and serious for a second, you are either both willfully ignorant or just ignorant. There are many threads discussing intellectual issues that are both enlightening and entertaining in OT. I give you the following example which I can only assume three people have read (me, BBS, and Mets).

viewtopic.php?f=8&t=93718&start=6165#p4415432

Start there and read. If you don't find it intellectually stimulating with precisely the sort of topics that Phatscotty cares about (he created the thread, after all), then your threads in the Star Chamber won't work.

Yes, I saw that BBS and Mets have been working very, very hard indeed. I have noticed over the years, every time somebody is crossing the line, they hurry up and make a serious post and showcase their value to the community. Not saying that's what's going on there.

Yeah, it's not going on there. Maybe you should read their posts. Honestly, you're offensive with this, especially your "I'm not saying this is what's going on there, but..." nonsense. Mets and BBS are two of the most intelligent posters around here and you should be ashamed of even hinting that they're trying to curry favor by posting in that thread. Seriously dude, this is shitty stuff.

and your stuff will continue to be shitty when you cut statements in half in order to purposefully misrepresent what was said. And I did not include you with Mets and BBS, as you had included yourself... because you are the one I was talking about. However, I don't think this is the time or place for that. The rest of my statement that you cut out says the opposite of what you tried to twist the comment into, in fact I was complimenting BBS and Mets.

If you don't care about that stuff (what was really said), it reveals a lot about your intentions, which looks a lot like posting deliberately provocative messages with the intention of causing disruption and argument.

Anyway, this has already been rejected. Even BBS and I are in agreement on this one.

There has been a lot of changes to the point where things I have been banned for in the past are things that people laugh about when they hear someone actually got banned for it.

Double posting?
Necrobumping?

A LOT has changed. Maybe it's time the forum to as well. And if it's not, it's not. No big deal. It's just a suggestion.

These things are related. The softening up we've taken on our moderation stance is partially responsible, I'm sure, for the increased amount of frivolous posting. That likely strengthens the argument, though, that splitting the forum may not help the situation.

I think you are now legally required to retract your "OoH OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH!!!!"

I mean it would really solve all of Phatscotty's problems. He could control who is in and who is out and can discuss what he would like to discuss. It's a win-win!

Good luck dealing with that offense, PS. Feel free to pick up where Gillipig, the OT Splitter, failed.

If not, then your suggestion will be rejected.

Also, no one who supports the OT Division has met Andy's intellectual challenge:

I admire your appeal to the Unknown Mass of Supporters 'out there'. Well, my good man, there is another Unknown Mass of Supporters 'out there' who support my position. Ha!

Oooh, I like this conspiracy theory. I always wondered why I flip from serious to funny while sometimes mixing both. It is not because that is my personality trait--not at all an ingrained and consciously exercised habit of mine which I have been honing for >10 years. No, gentlemen, it is not. It is because I am in a conspiracy! There are imaginary lines out there which I and my fellow co-conspirators must cross! Imaginary seriousness must also be spread in return!

It's a dangerous game Mets and I play. We PM each other frequently about it. PM me if any of you would like to join... The OT Underground (TOU).

You read TGD's version of what I said, didn't ya. WTG TGD

and if those people clicked (Obamacare thread) today they would probably be surprised at the recent couple days of discussions there (because the recent couple days discussion have been top notch).

And no way do I think a bunch of yall got together in a private forum to conspire against me. There is far too much honor in that circle in which I am already constitutionally banned from joining by Inky. But that's not what this is about. It's just a simple suggestion.

If the following points against the OT division cannot be bested, then OP's suggestion should be rejected:

They might want to get giggles but don't because they hate politics and religion, or they might want to go see what someone is saying on politics and religion and what is being shared on the topic, but don't want to scan through 5 pages of lulzers to find the next on topic serious post. I think where it may just be best for some people to easily skip over one topic or another, many times the temptation is too irresistible, and before they know it they are seeing red and saying things they don't mean to say or changing the purpose for their participation in the thread.

I don't think anyone should be banned, or anyone should be reported, but it would make it easier for people to get what they came for. Just a suggestion

I think this was posted oppositely (if that's the appropriate use of that word), but someone making a similar suggestion (i.e. they didn't want to have to go through all the American politics threads to find the lulz). That being typed, even if you get a subforum, I don't think it will work the way you intend; rather, people can just put their lulz in that subforum in your serious threads.

Perhaps you should form a usergroup?

Which thread is Gabon referring to? For what it's worth, I miss him. But to be fair, I also miss such archnemeses as snorri and sultan.

Game 13784947

He's right. He's already known. I'm not sure what personalities he's referring to since all the people that railed against Gabon are gone (see above, e.g., snorri and sultan).

Also, this game...
