Fair play to him if he can keep it up because I highly doubt one can gain as many points as you're suggesting without holding people hostage. If he can do it and play all top notch players like Josko did, more power to him. Josko was sitting at 5400+ before he made his run to 6300+, so he only gained 900-1000 points. He paid for it though by losing a lot more than he earned due to the severe point losses he would have had then.
To be fair, I believe NoS is a general because of points gained during the FS BRs last month.

He WAS general because of that, but his rank went down and now is back up due to the 1v1's.Shannon Apple wrote:Fair play to him if he can keep it up because I highly doubt one can gain as many points as you're suggesting without holding people hostage. I can do this even easier then the rest, just start bunch of poly hives and fixed them to all drop on the same day playing every turn within 24h frame

I think the bolded part is more important for what you suggested, rather than the bit you plucked out.benga wrote:you even read what you write?Shannon Apple wrote:Fair play to him if he can keep it up because I highly doubt one can gain as many points as you're suggesting without holding people hostage. Re: Shall we call it "doin the josko"?
I am pretty damn average, anyone that has played me knows that... I am just exemplifying how easy it is to climb the ranks doing what josko did... (not to say josko is average, he is anything but). I hope something gets done about the problem. (God I hope something is done because I am going to be a cadet in a few days
Re: Shall we call it "doin the josko"?
The only issue is how do you stop it? if all turns are taken within 24 hours, and all games are played honestly by all players, then there really are no rules being broken. You can't really make the length of turns shorter because that would cause many people to miss turns. So really the only way I am seeing to fix it, would be to limit the number of games people can play at once, but that would never happen because we pay good money to play as many games as we darn well please. I just really don't see how anything can be done to stop this, at least nothing that the community would support.

incorrect...
anyone with any ability at all can do exactly this as Krapht has pointed out
Re: Shall we call it "doin the josko"?
getting 1000 points from 5k to 6k is much harder then getting from 2k to 4,5kShannon Apple wrote:I think the bolded part is more important for what you suggested, rather than the bit you plucked out.benga wrote:you even read what you write?Shannon Apple wrote:Fair play to him if he can keep it up because I highly doubt one can gain as many points as you're suggesting without holding people hostage. That was my point, which you missed. Get where I am coming from now? 1000 points isn't that hard to do legitimately, however 3000 might require abuse of the game such as hostage taking.
I wasn't saying that I am also able to reach that score w/o any hostage taking, playing legit within 24 h frame

I still feel like it is gross abuse of the game and should be punished with at LEAST a point reset back to when they started.. and if they get to conq their medal stripped too.jdw35 wrote:The only issue is how do you stop it? if all turns are taken within 24 hours, and all games are played honestly by all players, then there really are no rules being broken. Re: Shall we call it "doin the josko"?
If your average opponent's score is 2000, then it takes about 140 won games to go from 5000 to 6000. It takes about 200 to go from 2000 to 4500.benga wrote:getting 1000 points from 5k to 6k is much harder then getting from 2k to 4,5kShannon Apple wrote:I think the bolded part is more important for what you suggested, rather than the bit you plucked out.benga wrote:you even read what you write?Shannon Apple wrote:Fair play to him if he can keep it up because I highly doubt one can gain as many points as you're suggesting without holding people hostage. The only way to stop this is to require turns be taken in order of least time remaining to greatest. Then one would be prevented from accelerating winners and delaying losers, or the opposite of accelerating all losers to plummet the score & delay winners to shoot up on the backside.

We can always look at a new point system.. or remove the incentive by taking away the monthly prizes.

WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!!

Re: Shall we call it "doin the josko"?
I don't think the incentive is the monthly prizes, I think people want to make it to conqueror. Or just to see their score at a ridiculously high mark. What are some other options as far as a new points system? Or do we need to just learn to accept that there will be "one day conquerors" every once in a while? I feel like the conqueror rank its self has been tarnished a little bit, we haven't had many completely legit players at the top for a while now

A new points system would be good too. I'll let some mathematical genius work that one out.

Or how about people just play their turns. Or quit abusing loop holes sometimes you don't even want to look nor play a loosing game, but when you are doing in to only manipulate the score board then there, should be a issue.

Re: Shall we call it "doin the josko"?
I think it should be implemented for casual games where you cannot take a turn unless you have taken your true "next turn"
