He's right tho. I played last time and remember thinking the guys in the corners had a crap deal, the centre 4 squares have a massive advantage/disadvantage (depending on whether your glass is half full/empty).
Now if u did it on a 3d shape instead of a flat square, that would be interesting. And fair.

Wouldn't that create the same scenario in the corners? to solve this you could have the top left fight the top right and bottom left as well. That would give the same number of attacks per turn. The same thing would happen for the edge pieces as well.
This is a really interesting concept though, hope it works out.
