A box to hide team chat or public chat in the game chat area

Postby jimboy on Fri Aug 23, 2013 10:35 pm

Concise description:

Sometimes game chat can get rather busy. Sometimes its the public chat that is extensive and more often its the team chat that gets extensive. Sometimes it would be nice to see only team chat or sometimes its fun to partake in a public chat conversation but you have to scroll through all the team chat to try to stick with the chat topic.

Specifics/Details:

I propose that a check box be added so that player can choose to hide the team chat or the public chat, whichever he chooses at the time. I would suggest that as a default that both chats be loaded when the page loads but that a click of a box hides the chat that you want to hide.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:

I feel like this will make it easier to follow some fun game chats with your opposition and could potentially make this more fun for some members.

**I apologize if this has been suggested before, I don't have the time to scour this forum to see if its already here

Cheers,

Jimboy

Nice to see that there is some kind of a solution to help the situation I'm referring to. I still think however that it would be nice to have something permanent put onto the page so that a script is not required for this convenience

We would need to see a larger showing of support from the community to put integration of this add-on on the to-do list.

I like this suggestion.

I will also add that this is hard for the script to do quickly or efficiently, because of the way game chat works - it would be much more efficient to do it from the server, rather than once everything has already been loaded.

I like this idea. If it is not logistically possible perhaps you could do chat in two tabs? one is team and one is social?
