Colour Committee 2013 & A Sneak Peek
That's right folks, we're having another colour committee. This committee will be responsible for choosing new army colors with the impending expansion to 12 player games.
That's right, 12 player games are coming! I suppose I spoiled my own sneak peek.
If you are interested in helping to choose the new colors, please send a PM to IcePack or make a post in this thread letting him know of your interests in the colour committee.

Re: Colour Committee 2013 & A Sneak Peek
I'm interested as well.
As a jumping off point, we might want to look at standards for web colour design, and see how what we have now fits into that, and thus where we might go most effectively. Information about workarounds for colour blindness and general standards for distinguishable colours would be welcome.
Props for spelling colour properly as well.

I'm interested. It might be useful to have a colour-blind person on board!

Re: Colour Committee 2013 & A Sneak Peek
Just FYI: I am partially colour-blind so I can't tell colours that are close apart. Ex. Blue & purple, green & yellow, red & orange, red & green, etc.IcePack wrote:I'm trying to get a CB member to join currently. I've asked if they're interested.AdamKeith wrote:I'm interested. Re: Colour Committee 2013 & A Sneak Peek
willing to help as needed too. definitely excited about this update!
Also, sign me up to help test new functionality if need be. Can probably also help modify XML for maps too. I assume these will be released in phases as it'd be a large effort to update all maps where 12 people are possible out of the gates. That can be a discussion for a different day but just wanted to be aware I can help where needed.
Thanks Blake.

Re: Colour Committee 2013 & A Sneak Peek
Just curious on a couple things:
1. If we go to 12 man games, does that also mean 9,10,11 man games as well?
2. Will we increase the # of players that can be in a team game (i.e. 5 man or 6 man team)

Re: Colour Committee 2013 & A Sneak Peek
We do have the options for 9, 10, and 11.kuma32478 wrote:Just curious on a couple things:

We haven't added 5 or 6 player teams (yet), but we have increased the number of teams that can be in a game.
Re: Colour Committee 2013 & A Sneak Peek
So we could have 12 people in a game with settings like Assassin Terminator or Escalating spoils or Team???
Rule 1
Spoiler

Re: Colour Committee 2013 & A Sneak Peek
BOB provides many useful things including a stats table that shows all the terts held by different players.
r:Fewnix 4.9 5 12 3
g umbrellaman 4.9 70 117 12
Hover your mouse over the r: Fewnix (r is for red
) or the g: Umbrellaman (g is for green
) and Bob will highlight on the Map all terts held by those players - the red Fewnix, the green Umbrellaman. It should be possible for colour challenged people to play any game with about the same access to info as the colour enabled.

2 of the most used added functionalities are the statistics table and the Map Inspect.
The statistics-table is created from the logs, it shows for example how many armies someone received last time they started a turn. It also calculates how many territories everyone has in a fog-game.
The map inspect-feature makes it possible to highlight some territories on the screen, for example to check which territories could give you a bonus. Highlighting is done by hovering over certain elements:
players/teams in the statistics-table or on the right: highlight all territories of this player/team.
card: highlight territory belonging to this card.
Bonus/'continent' in the statistics-table or on the right (if enabled): Highlight all territories belonging to this bonus (if you need 5 out of 9, it will highlight all 9 territories).
Territories on the map: Highlight (with a certain convention) the territories that border this territory.
6 different options atm: Border (2-way attack), attack-only, defend-only, bombard, bombarded by, mutual bombard

Re: Colour Committee 2013 & A Sneak Peek
I've started a separate project with the Cartographers to first, set a max player value for all necessary maps, and then as mapmakers want to update them, after the feature, we can do that. All those maps is quite a bit of work, though!patrickaa317 wrote:willing to help as needed too. definitely excited about this update!
