local map for local people is a reference to the TV show Royston Vasey is in MB - it's called League of Gentlemen and it's one of the more surreal comedies to come of of Britain since Monty Python (tho don't whatever you do find it on youtube and expect Python style humour - it's VERY different) - One of the regular sketch locations is a "local shop for local people"
