I keep getting Parsing XML on the opening a map. Unable to access map unless I disable BOB.

I looked through the comments above, I could have missed it but what is the fix.

Thank you

Usually that is caused by having the wrong version of BOB loaded. Check that you have 5.2.3.

What browser are you using? Is Greasemonkey up to date?

Silly little feature I've been pining for is a report on a player's average turn length. i.e. in a 24-hour turn-length game, how long each player takes on average to complete their turn from the time they're allowed to start.

Hardly important, just a bit of a curiosity.

Hi Sherkaner,
I'm switching from Firefox to Chrome and want to install BOB, but there appears to have been a change made to Chrome for security reasons and I am unable to proceed beyond the first few steps. Here's what happens when I click on THE LINK "GET BOB" in the paragraph "How to install" of your forum posting.

I am given web site URL "http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/52341," I click on the green "Install" link in the upper right corner, A yellow note line appears near the top of my screen with the message "Apps, extensions, and user scripts cannot be added from this website" wih a little square containing "OK" at the end of the note. I click on "OK" and the screen returns to where it was before I clicked on "OK."

Also, when the stated message appears a new line appears at the bottom of the screen, just above the line where the utility tray is, a rectangle appears containing scroll figure in the shape of an "S" and what appears to be another link saying "52341 user.js". If I click on that rectangle a small window pops up in the center of the screen saying (in Spanish, since I am in Spain, using a Spanish operating system and have a Spanish IP). Does the information I provided give you enough information to tell me what I must do to install BOB in Chrome?

It's a move similar to Apple's but you just have to work-around it

Leehar wrote:yeah, it's an irritating move.

The work-around is that you can still download the script, and then drag-drop it into chrome://extensions/

http://userscripts.org/topics/113176

Google Faq version:
We recommend you only add extensions from other websites that you trust. In Chrome, you can follow these steps to add the extension:

Download the extension file from the website and save it to your computer.
Click the wrench icon on the browser toolbar.
Select Tools > Extensions.
Locate the extension file on your computer and drag the file onto the Extensions page.
Review the list of permissions in the dialog that appears. If you would like to proceed, click Install.

BOB not appearing in game pages on Firefox [was Re: BOB 5.2.

Postby JDLH on Mon Feb 04, 2013 3:40 am

User KingofExonia posted this bug report in the Tools & Enhancements forum:
I have an issue where my BOB menu and elated features are not appearing when I am in a game page. However, if I am in any other page on CC (forum, my games, etc.), the BOB menu shows up where it should. Yes, hide menu = off and auto BOB = on. I have also tried a) restarting the browser, 2) uninstalling the scripts and then reinstalling, 3) uninstalling Greasemonkey and then reinstalling Greasemonkey & scripts.

Details:
OS: Win 7
Browser: FF 18.0.1
Greasemonkey: 1.7.1
BOB: 5.2.3

I have the same symptoms. It started sometime between between 12:00 PST Sunday Feb 3 and 00:20 PST on Mon Feb 4.

Details:
OS: Mac OS X 10.5.8
Browser: FF 16.0.2
Greasemonkey: 1.7.1
BOB: 5.2.3

For what it's worth, I see the following error on a error console provided by Web Developer Toolkit:

Timestamp: 04/02/13 12:38:12 AM
Error: /map = (.+);/.exec($("#middleColumn script:first").html()) is null

My competence with script understanding and manipulation is far below sufficient for the remedy you propose. I give up. I'll stick with the less desireable Firefox. But thanks for trying to help.

Using Chrome I did this workaround and my BOB does still not work - appears to be 'initializing' at the bottom of the screen when I load a game but nothing happens.

You might have succeeded in installing BOB, but now be experiencing the same recent problem I described in my forum post above. I also see a message "BOB initializing" or some such.

BOB has been broken for non-premium ("freemium") members by the game page ads. I hope to fix it for Firefox soon and Chrome soon after.

BOB 5.2.4 was just offered to me as "update available". It makes BOB work again, on Firefox 16.0.2 on Mac OS X 10.5.8.

Thanks for the fix!

I've had the same problem, then after reading all this below, I noticed there was a 5.2.4 available flashing on the BOB menu (outside a game of course), so i clicked on it and it takes me straight to some long script, but no download button in site.

So i go back and the flashing is gone, i'm still on 5.2.3 and nothing's changed. How do I download the 5.2.4?

You have already downloaded 5,2,4. Punch your keyboard's f5 key to update and you'll see it.

Thank you for the reply but it hasn't done a thing. I hit f5 key while on this page, while in a game, and with that script showing, and nothing has changed - no BOB menu in the games and the BOB out of games still shows 5.2.3.

Any other ideas?

Well that is baffling. BOB 5.2.4 on my screen is turned on and working fine. Maybe f5 is not the same function key for you, since I have a Spanish keyboard. You have tried logging off, right?

funny, but it just happened again: new version available started flashing in red, so i click on it and it takes me to a script instead of a way to actually download

When you click on the flashing notification it should give you a screen with a link saying "Install." After you click on that it will install, but you won't see that it has installed unless you do something like I said before. On my computer I can use the f5 key, but you may have to log off and back on.

that's the problem: when i click on the flashing notification it takes me to a script page, so i go back and the flashing notification is now off, its back to latest version installed, and it says 5.2.3, and no BOB on games. And i've tried f5 key.

Then it's beyond me. Better talk to Sherkaner (the BOB guru). It's bedtime here in Spain. Good luck getting this thing resolved.
