Could there be a tournament based on the NBA that is available for freemiums?

In the NBA (and NHL, and soccer, and in fact in most sports except boxing and American football) the teams play many games in a season. With freemiums being limited to 4 games at a time, it would be extremely difficult to arrange a schedule that would resemble an NBA schedule and still have it moving at a reasonable pace.
I'm sure it's not completely impossible, but very very difficult.

Well, what if each team played one game a week? The scheduled need not match NBA schedules.
