This will be the first tournament I have hosted on this site. This tournament is unique in that it rewards you based on the number of troops you receive at the beginning of each turn.
NUMBER OF PLAYERS: This tournament is for 18 players, plus reserves. EDIT 9/12 - I've lowered the number to 18 players in this tourney in hopes of getting it off the ground. Players will play 6 player games in all rounds.
SETTINGS (all rounds): Standard, Automatic, Sequential, No Spoils, Chained, Fog, No Trench, 20 round limit
FORMAT: All players will play 6 player standard games. Each player will play 3 games in the first round. The top 12 players (see scoring below) will advance to the second round, and the top 6 players from that round will advance to the final round. For the first two rounds, players will be randomly assigned to games, but all players will play the same amount of games on the same map – just against different opponents. In the first round, each player will play 6 games – two on the First Nations North America map, two on the USA Great Lakes map, and two on the USA Rockies map. The second round will consist of 3 games on Rail USA and Rail Europe. The final will be a three game set on World 2.1. Since all games will be sent at the same time, this tournament is only open to premium members.
SCORING: Each player will receive one point for each reinforcement received at the beginning of their turn. Example: At the beginning of their turn, a player has 15 territories, and they receive 5 troops. They would receive 5 points for that turn. There is a 20 round limit on games, and all games will end at that time. If a game ends before 20 rounds, the winner will receive credit for the number of troops they would have received for their next turn for ALL remaining turns. Example: A player wins after turn 10 and is due 20 troops. They would get credit for 20 troops for turns 11-20. The games are no spoils, so there is no issue there. Any player eliminated before the end of the game does not receive any more points for the rest of the game.
