is the new years eve slot open? thinking of running a tournament for 8 player singles. 64 players will be ok.

I haven't looked closely at the schedule. I will definitely be in for at least 2 tourneys, including (I hope) one of the Majors later in the year.

While we're on that subject, I would very much urge that Premier and Major events be restricted to those who have completed at least one TPA Standard event. It's nice to see some new, enthusiastic faces, but a proven track record still counts for something.

I see the October 8th Premier slot is still open. Could I have that please?

I like Duka's suggestion about those wanting a higher level event to have completed a standard in the past. Not just because I have completed this "prerequisite", but I think it makes sense.

In addition, if it comes down to needing some slots filled for other tourney spots, let me know. I would be willing to fill if necessary as well.

With pleasure, Duke - Oct 8th yours.

Thanks Fuzzy - I agree in principle, though I don't know individual TO's history very well.

Thanks Redhedge, but it's a bit too soon after your first tournament date - let's see how that goes first! Also, pm me a summary of your tournaments sometime please, so that I get a better idea of what you are planning.

You could just take a look at the number and names of the tournaments they've hosted. Gives you a brief idea of what their history is like, and it's easy to find if they've hosted a TPA/TPA2 tournament before (:

Thanks for that - initially I was concerned that there was little interest in the tournament this year, so I have been happy to sign up anyone who seems enthusiastic about entering. Now that dates seem to be getting filled, I can do as you say and be a bit more selective.

I can take a standard tourney. I've got a 32 player 1v1 tourney that I've run twice before that keeps everyone interested. Let me know what you think.

flexmaster33, booked for standard slot for Jan. 14

Lufsen75, standard on 01-Oct - if that's not too soon. Perhaps an additional Premier/Major, though there is just one Major slot left for 22nd April, so perhaps best to go for a Premier earlier in the year.

redhedge47 - again, perhaps a premier rather than a major. I am not too fussed at this stage about trying to ensure that we have every style of tournament, as each TO has their own preferences, so I am sure that we will get a very varied selection anyway. The last "block" of dates from April to July could always be more specific if we seem to be missing a particular style of tournament by then.

Again, thank you all for the feedback; at least we can make a good start!

This all sounds good to me.
I plan my next terminator til 1 of october with regular settings for my tourney and next map (that are a normal one).
I think it is up to you to decide what fits best.

I can pick up a tournament or eight. ;)

You can put me wherever is good for you. Whatever level of tournament you want, whatever type and I'll get it done.

Are you making sure that terminator and assassin and trench and everything are all included? Or is it just whatever people want to do?

Just adding on, remember that all 4 majors need to be different game types!

Thanks for that guys. I did not see any specifics in Bart's instructions other than there was a mix of different types, but now we seem to be filling in slots OK (which was not the case earlier), I'll get more planning information to check on the different types to ensure we get an appropriate mix.

Chap, I'll get back to you once I have the information on tournament types published.

Many thanks.

I claimed the October 3 Premier slot without having a clear idea of what kind of tournament I want to do. If there is some type you have a shortage of, feel free to make a suggestion...:)

Assassin and Trench have not been specifically mentioned; nor doubles, triples. However, whatever the mix in the first block of 11 tournmaments, we can be more specific for the subsequent ones.

Okay, I'll be happy to do Assassin.
