Nah, the best players are by nature socially awkward and therefore terrible company.Robinette wrote:Well I want BOTH a funny game, and some good competition...Janomike wrote:If you want to have a funny game invite the peoples that are on your list right now!
But if you want another thread with 199 victories on the wall... you should pick me because i promise you

The theory being that anybody intelligent to offer worthwhile submission, is likely intelligent to play a competitive game...
Or is the other way around, lol...
Regardless, if you can offer good competition,
then surely the challenge of a good submission is not beyond your reach, is it?
I'm still rooting for:
WOODRUFF!
WOODRUFF!
WOOOOODRUUUFFFF!!!
I have to admit I'm somewhat relieved to be bumped off the list and not obligated have to play against a she-male. No offense, Robinette, it's just a personal hang-up and something my therapist says we will work on in due time.

I'm confused...
What do we do? Should I haul out my old ukelele and sing a song about my lollipop tree from when I was a boy? Is that kosher? Does "kosher" apply to non-food things? Ah, I'm a mess.

PS: To answer the question, in german "kosher" applies to everything, so i guess you can use it the same way in your language. And in the original sense it was not food only but includes articles and acts.

I would like to join this party for one simple inescapable reason.
Whenever one is seated across from Robin, one is always assured of a very strong opposition. It is by playing such games that one hones the skills required to win more.

You call that a-wooing?
Come on Fruitcake, you can do better than that. I mean, I've heard of the old stiff upper lip but that one made those Buckingham guard guys look like Prince Charmings.
Just imagine you're talking about what you had for brunch or something, that aught to get the old blood pumping.

Re: 199 Victories... FINAL CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
With a 50% increase of submissions in the past few days,
it's time to take a fresh look at the entire field...
Green is for the top 3 entries thus far
Yellow is everything in between
Red is for the bottom 3 entries this far
Woodruff - with a clever modified version of 'A Knight's Tale'
Funkyterrance - something about the renaissance fair, and cold water on his crotch, but also a good response to being bumped from the list on page 6
lord voldemort - haiku, for me, happy.
_sabotage_ - the sleuth who found my twin.
Viceroy63 - promises game chat with fibrous wit and humor.
trinicardinal - with the record for longest sentence of the year.
Gillipig - what was Ms Gillipig was trying to say?
Dibbun - with a long soliloquy, original to the core... perhaps written while on a toilet seat
AslanTheKing - something a la Red Badge of Courage.
AndyDufresne - played it safe with Gil Elvgren
Janomike - a cute little poem, in two languages no less
Bruceswar - few words, uncertain meaning
Victor Sullivan - confused by the assignment, then questions what is kosher
Seulessliathan - arrives late, but with sound advice
Fruitcake - few words, but loaded with respect, brilliant!
Game slot is open, and ready to be filled...
Who will move up and take a seat at this special table?

Re: 199 Victories... FINAL CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Personally, Robinette, I think you have one of the most difficult medals to achieve in all of Conquer Club: your specific General Contribution medal. No one can even attempt to fill the slot you'd leave empty, should you ever leave. How can an institution stay standing if its foundation gives out? How can a daisy show its petals in the spring if it has no roots to absorb the nutrients it needs? It takes a certain kind of person to have such an impact with no tools.
If I'm going to be perfectly honest, I'm not even sure if I deserve to be in your game. You should have your game be a game for those that have contributed as you have, like AndyDufresne, Woodruff, and Fruitcake.
I'm just the Newsletter guy.

Au contraire, Trinicardinal. Sully can turn on the juice if he wants to, obviously. In fact, I'm willing to bet he's been letting people win all this time because he's just that cool of a guy.trinicardinal wrote:Not to mention that if Sully is in the games that's one less player you have to worry about winningVictor Sullivan wrote:Personally, Robinette, I think you have one of the most difficult medals to achieve in all of Conquer Club: your specific General Contribution medal. normally i would prefer some degree of verbosity,
but these are the 4 most delightful words in this entire thread...
and the double entendre is simply delicious...
