Hi cairnswk, another one now I see, what happened to the fairy tales and those pesky blind mice? :P
Why so small and can the territ count not go any higher. 24 would be nice so the boss does not need to be disturbed. ;)
Yellow glow around somalia is bloody bright. Can it be toned down or find another solution to it?
The home of coffee, thought that was Starbucks?
Why Ethiopia when Somalia is also on the map itself?

hi koontz...they're still there cooling their heels

Why so small and can the territ count not go any higher. 24 would be nice so the boss does not need to be disturbed. ;)

Because there are only a few small maps - for variety, but plenty of large maps.
yes 24 is golden.
because there are two and three territories in some regions, there are still going to be neutrals starting...so 17 is a nice number to split.

Yellow glow around somalia is bloody bright. Can it be toned down or find another solution to it?

it is the Ethiopian Somali territory not Somalia (the country) - please take note.
yes it could be toned down, but then i don't think it is that bright. ;)

The home of coffee, thought that was Starbucks?

Are you being funny? No, Starbucks does not feature in this map. If you check any decent reference, coffee was first found in Ethiopia, not the local morning take-away.

Why Ethiopia when Somalia is also on the map itself?

Not sure what you mean here, but Ehtiopia is it's own country and has nothing to do with Somalia - except for war-torn refugees flooding into an already impoverished country. :(

It was my mistake with somalia, I read the territ names wrong.
With the starting numbers, you know that getting it up to 3 territs each for 8 player games is going to be asked for by the higher ups so getting it up know would be the best solution.
And yes, starbucks was being funny.

that means with 5 nuetral starts, i need to have 29 terts in total...agree?
I don't know if that is possible on this map.
And even on doodle there are only 18 terts.
PS: wait...29 is possible, but it means including the outer countries...if i make northern and southern somaliam and south sudan, there are 29 terts.

Version 2 with 29 terts....now a golden number and with 5 starting nuetrals, still allows a 24 (golden number) start for 8 players games.

And with those outer territs not being part of a bonus (if I am reading it right) it should add another dynamic to the game.

With the three cities starting 5 neutral, could they also receive an autodeploy or other bonus..

sannemanrobinson...thanks for dropping in for comment...
they are presently set at 5 neutral which could change.
there are only three cities in 3 regions...if there were other cities in the other regions i would probably consider that option.
but these three are part of region bonuses, and i don't know if there is any connection between that and having them gain an autodeploy.

Version 3.
While waiting to see if this will get off the ground, i have added the lion as an older icon to this map, and will present it better later in graphics.

Well no...the country has moved to a new regime, even though the lions are semi-represent of that era.

I don't think the color selection on the three southern bonuses is good. The colors don't contrast enough imo. And I'm sure it'd be a bother for a significant portion of the players.

I see contrast is mentioned...that's OK, but are you guys also talking about CB issues?

Is there a better way to have those small terts than in the corners? Also not diggin those bridges but I am sure that can be dealt with later.

Is there any way to make the boxes stand out better. Not the ones in the corners, but the areas they represent on the map itself. Took me a while to find them. Nice map though.

It may make it seem cluttered but why not just make room for it next to those terts or just get rid of them?
