Well congrats Empire and Kort on some well fought games! Se you in the finals. On a side note i am really impressed with Empires play after our clan war. They could have easily just fell apart but they have seemed to come back very strong which may =D> be bad news for us all in the final!

Thanks Ollie, we've also learnt to recognise you guys as some tough competitors ;)

Also, I'm still not exactly sure how it works, and I probably have no impact on the decision, but I'd like to nominate the following for MVP from Empire (as people who made my organising job so much easier with their brilliant performances  ):

The retiring Dwilhelmi, who's an overall mvp candidate for the second successive year!
12 wins, 4 defeats

The stalwart mudfighter, who's been our silent assassin in steadily going about his business
10 wins (soon to be another with Imperium?!), and only 2 defeats! (I honestly think thats the best WP in the whole league!)

Probably the only other person who can combat our dominating duo, is the the Honourable Head CD, bruceswar, with a 15-5 record :(

mate, I think next round is still not the final; 2 get eliminated and then comes the round 4 which is the final
the format is a bit long like that imo..

What are the rules for MVP?

Personally, I think it should be winning percentage after you control for a minimum number of games (so that someone with 1 game and 1 win is not awarded for his 100% performance).

in my opinion, the MVP player needs to play at least 50% of maximal games that he was able to play. in addition, I think Phase 1&2 should be considered together. that said, I think MVP player should be the one with the best winning % among all players who played 24 or more games (of 48 possible).

I don't think Phase 1 should be considered as we all played against different opposition.

The 50% of maximum game rules is the one Lindax uses for TLO. That would be 14 out of 28.

Mudfighter would be ineligible with his 11-2, but we could give him a loss to complete the minimum of 14 and have him compete as an 11-3 (78.57% wins). I believe he would still win.

Lol...his run is ridiculous...the minimum is alot though. I think we would only have 3-4 guys in our whole clan who actually played that many. We spread ours around alot and not rely on 1 or 2 individuals.
Though the general formula of win% after a minimum # of games is good

It's not really equitable to draw a comparison to the TLO's 50% game rule because the quota restrictions are so different. In the TLO a player can join as many as 6 of the 9 games each round (67%) whereas in the League the restrictions in place are for a maximum of 4 games out of the 12 (33%) and 10 players must be used to encourage greater diversity of participation. On this basis the net should be widened to accommodate those clans who have distributed the games more equitably between their players (but don't ask me what that figure should be). Another concept that proved successful in CL1 was to have a vote. Each clan submits its representative and a poll is created with the players' stats. This can be done in the CLA forum where there is no majority favouring one particular clan.

Votes can be still biased. Id rather go purely on stats

It's taken a heavy tilt in our direction but no fowl on our abacus yet, there have been too many swings already.

Could you have scripted a better finish to this phase than to have 1 game decide which of those 2 clans would take the final spot. (and for those 2 clans to be last year's finalists)

Yeah, it's looking like a reasonably sure AOC victory now.
Hats off to IA for putting up an awesome fight. Great game. Loved it :)

What is really funny about this is that if we all played the same series again i bet AFOS, TSM, IA, and TOFU would probably be moving on! It all came down to some luck for most of us advancing, well done, and i hope we can remain lucky for the finals! =D>

Yeah, there's clearly very little between any of the top 8, it's great that we have such a large group of competitive clans.
