Chop's 'Battle of Canada' [Complete - Winner Loose Canon]

Postby mr_chopper on Fri Jul 13, 2012 5:38 am

Congratulations to Loose Canon! A close win of 4-3 in the finals! Good effort, Pindary!

Finals :
Pindary vs Loose Canon
(best of seven)

Semi-finals:

TAFFATTACK vs Pindary
igrockspock vs LooseCanon

Quarterfinals:

Templeyard vs TAFFATTACK
Gigi1 vs Pindary
igrockspock vs Onagras
randy_pierce vs Loosecanon

I think it was Canada's 7th (?) Prime Minister, Sir Wilfrid Laurier, who said that the 20th Century would be Canada's century - I guess he was more of a hockey fan than a politician!

Anyway, welcome to the Battle of Canada! Obviously, the battles will be played out on the Canada map.

The first round will be a group stage with eight groups of four battling in two concurrent games. The winners of these two games will advance to the next round. (In the event that one person wins both group games, there will be a playoff group game [freestyle] of the losers to determine who advances to the 'Sweet 16' s/e knockout phase.)

Rounds:
Group stage - 2 group games, 2 winners advances (freestyle playoff if same winner for both group games)
Sweet Sixteen - 1 vs 1, one game, winners advance to quarters
Quarterfinals - 1 vs 1, best of three, winners advance to semis
Semifinals - 1 vs 1, best of five, winners advance to finals
Finals - 1 vs 1, best of seven, winner declared 'Battle of Canada' champion

NOTE: In the, hopefully, unlikely event that a player doesn't accept a game invitation, within 48 hours, during the knockout phases, that player will forfeit and the opposing player will be granted a walk through to the next round.

For all games there will be a round limit of 20 rounds.

During each round, all games to be run concurrently. Therefore, only premium players may apply.

Tournament Game Settings:
manual, sequential, unlimited, escalating, sunny, no trench

Groupings to be determined by drawingnamesoutofahat.com

Good luck!
