No - that is exactly the sort of thing that would close the gap between good and bad players - takes tactics to know where to put armies.

Could have benefited from some positive criticism. Thought this was a think tank, not a slaughterhouse.

What if you had the option to attack through yourself once or twice in a game?

It just doesn't make sense. It takes some of the strategy and luck out of it. You have to say to yourself "Okay, he has guys there, but I'm surrounding him, so I need to place X many guys to take him out, I will then place the rest over here, so I can take those guys out." Otherwise, it's just "Guys go here! I stuck! I attack through myself!" Besides, fortification kind of covers that doesn't it?

i can see why this has been suggested, but it simply takes away the advantage from those players who deploy there armies in places which makes them available.

I think Unlimited Fortification has alread done enough in this area. It reduces required skill by a lot to be able to end your turn with all your armies exactly where you want them.
