I'm guessing since the grunt ran away and they lost it that means someone missed last night. But then who knows, this is suppose to be a game to test new roles.
Re: Infection: Day 2: Lone Grunt (9/9)
I disagree. We have no more information than we did then, and we won't unless someone dies. We can either sit on our hands again and let the mafia choose who to kill or we can lynch and as we have no information apart from the scene, I'd suggest a random lynch is the best course. This is confounded by the strict deadline, as it doesn't give us much time to extrapolate information from nothing. Have you got any better ideas or do you wish to continue to stall?vodean wrote:dude, this is day 2. the joke votes were this time yesterday. now im not sure why you voted me... but if you are aware that the joke-votes were yesterday, then i will be trying to build a case on you. just so you know.

+1. Thank you. There is really no information available, and none will be until someone dies.militant wrote:I disagree. We have no more information than we did then, and we won't unless someone dies. Re: Infection: Day 2: Lone Grunt (9/9)
actually i think information is available.
i have not played halo (blasphemy
) but from what i read on wiki, apparently the covenant is an alien alliance.
so i'm assuming people on the spaceship are town while the covenant are mafia.
from reading the scene i understand the covenant isn't still in play.
so i'm thinking that the aliens (mafia) are those that haven't posted yet.
i'm gonna check now to see whoever didn't post.

Wait, the scenes are filled with info? Well that's a load of help since I never played Halo either.
And fyi, this is my first non standard mafia.

Yes, the covenant is an alien race, and typically mafia, but this is "infection" indicating that there are Flood in this game. (Flood is another alien race that is basically a parasite that basically makes the person like a zombie.) so weather or not there are covenant in this game, who knows, but i would go and say... damn. i forgot,
I think i was going to say there are Flood in this game, but i already said that....

You are correct Dim a lot of the time scum will try to submarine in a game,to keep from making a possible mistake in a post that will come back to bite them later.DiM wrote:actually i think information is available.

Re: Infection: Day 2: Lone Grunt (9/9)
upon checking i realised that everybody posted so my theory is shot down.
at some point i realised soundman has these weird quotes in all his posts so i thought maybe his role says he's an alien and he must include weird quotes in all posts and i thought i was onto something. but in this last page his post has no quotes so this theory also fails.

I'm a little lost here. If I needed to know about Halo to play this I probably wouldn't have joined. Someone should double check out CM5's info though... don't want a potential mafia feeding us false info :/

Flood aren't much for latency, though. The infections are almost immediate (and violent as a rule). That makes me wonder what exactly we are dealing with (though a name like "Infection" doesn't leave a lot of room for itself...)crazymilkshake5 wrote:Yes, the covenant is an alien race, and typically mafia, but this is "infection" indicating that there are Flood in this game. i just checked on wiki and it appears CM5's info is ok.QoH wrote:I'm a little lost here. If I needed to know about Halo to play this I probably wouldn't have joined. Someone should double check out CM5's info though... don't want a potential mafia feeding us false info :/
i don't think a mafia would feed bad info if that info is easy to check.
also i don't think halo experience is needed but it certainly adds to the flavour.
the flood
also i'd like clarification from jak111. are we supposed to read into the scenes? do we have clues there or is this just for flavour?
in my first (and only) completed game, victor sullivan was the mod and all the scenes contained lots of clues. methods of killing, the existence of a SK, the number of mafia people, the time when certain people come into play, etc.
is it the same here?

I cannot clarify much, only that the scenes are coming together like a story. Read the first scene of D1. All of it is like that, a story.DiM wrote: also i'd like clarification from jak111. are we supposed to read into the scenes? do we have clues there or is this just for flavour?

The reason why I cannot clarify you anymore is because this speculation adds WIFOM to the game (Which is ALWAYS fun

Well we have very little time. Should we just start where we left off yesterday and get a claim from Vodean? Without a lot of time we pretty much have to go random for the first few times. Unless someone makes an obvious slip.

Re: Infection: Day 2: Lone Grunt (9/9)
first few times? i think at the worst case scenario only the first lynch should be random. if you do 3-4 lynches at random in a 9player game the town is pretty much dead (unless you get really lucky and hit mafia). but if you kill 3-4 townies out of the 6 you have at the start then it's over.soundman wrote:Well we have very little time. anyway i agree a claim from vodean is probably our best bet at this point.
i've got nothing pointing him as a mafia but he could have made a claim yesterday and yet he didn't. i won't cast a vote ... yet but if he still doesn't come with something i will.

DIM,no one voluntarily claims, that is why votes are put on them,to pressure a claim. Most players claim at L2 or L1, if their claim is legit then everyone usually moves on to someone else.DiM wrote:first few times? i think at the worst case scenario only the first lynch should be random. if you do 3-4 lynches at random in a 9player game the town is pretty much dead (unless you get really lucky and hit mafia). but if you kill 3-4 townies out of the 6 you have at the start then it's over.soundman wrote:Well we have very little time. Here is the tricky part A) someone will point a finger at a player who voted or B) a player who didnt vote and accuse them of BW or submarining, therefore scummy play.
The best offense is a good defense, If you are town a good rule of thumb is Never lie.
Its actually quite fun from that point on. Who is scum, who isnt, and why.

oh well, then i guess it's vote vodean.
that should put him at L-2 thus forcing a claim, right?

Putting someone at L-2 doesnt mean that they MUST claim, thats just the normal for claiming. Also, WHOS MIKE??? this we need to know, could be crucial to the game, seeing as how he looks as if he was the one infected last night.DiM wrote:oh well, then i guess it's vote vodean.
