P.S. I rather liked the coastline like border for the Region Legend, but perhaps the current standard works better. :)

Andy, thanks for the post...I was almost ready to go there with the coastline border for the legend, but there were two things that stopped me.
1. putting sand around the legend would make it look like there was another continent/large island whatever out there in the coral sea and that isn't the case.
2. the contoured outline of the legend would have to closely follow the coastline contour for it to look any good from a design perspective, and if I did that, the name would have to be re-arranged simply for filling space deisng perspective.

To show what i mean below is the map, the region names have been re-arranged after everyone is happy with them in the forum and they now follow higgely piggely pattern down the map. It does look like there is a huge dark contintent hanging over the top right corner of the map, a continent which in real life is not there.

I think that the legend needs to remain as is in squarish form for it to be actually viewed for the eye AS A LEGEND.
Sorry Andy. :)

at least could we get a reason why this is not quenched?
there's nothing to do on this one.

or is there a 3 map quench limit?

Mountains are still bugging me in the large version.

Maybe it's something that can't be fixed because they've scaled badly, but they're headache inducing.

I don't think sharpening them has helped. They still appear blurry and the contrast between the light and dark colours is more obvious on the large map. I'm not having a dig at you, just telling it how I see it. :)

well, they are a bit fuzzy. so i see his point. however, i also know that, for example, the large version of brit isles is horrendous. and also that the reason theyre fuzzy is prob simply because the original graphic was too small, so it be pretty hard to make them any better. so let them be and get the map up!
i really wanna play this map... [-o<

I think it helps a little, it just takes that edge off them. There's still something not quite right with them for me, but I'll get over it.

Perhaps post your large and small maps with and without numbers. It'll save Andy asking the same question and you'll be ready for him. 8)
