With absolutely no disrespect intended to the clans named below, I find it absolutely ridiculous that the entry rules for the Newcomers Cup have been relaxed so that old and experienced clans such as: VDLL, TNC, TFFS, The Legion etc etc are now eligible.

Imho entry should be restricted to clans who are less than a year old - Period.

I know why you're saying what you are, but i dont think there would be much of a competition left? Maybe newcomers cup isn't the most appropriate name anymore?

The goal of the competition posted in Benga's opening post says:

This Cup's purpose is to establish new and lower ranked clans,
give them a chance to win something and gather valuable experience
as a base for further growth and rise in ranks.

Well will someone tell me what chance to clans like: Random Heroes, The Ultim8tes, RotS, NBK, Team Fiso have against the clans listed in my previous post.

The entry criteria does NOT match the aims of the competition.

I don't dissagree with your statement Keefie. I just ment I dont think theres enough new clans entering to make up the numbers for a tourney. Plus Opti is a new clan and those guys would have a hard time against the likes of them. I guess there will always be a grey area..

If you look at it from a slightly different point of view this is the only tourney i'm aware of where these sorts of new clans can get involved and not play the likes of Empire/pack/IA etc etc. I know there are some good clans in here but i guess you have to lose a few to better opposition before you get better yourself. I think you stand a better chance of learning something playing clans in the bottom half of the rankings than losing 38-3 at the hands of KORT.

I was thinking a lot where to draw a line and it's not maybe the perfect line,
but the faster any new clans see how hard they have to work,
they will try to work their way up or disband.

This is the most competitive place in CC and you need to be on the move 24/7.

NC gave PACK and PIGS after their loss went to be a TOP 10.
Welsh Dragons and Order 66 are no more.

NC2
Gave us LHDD and pretty much all wars were close,
all except 1RFG v. MB 29-12.

Newcomers term also applies to a clan who tries to shine on the scene
to get some wind in his back and it should be that easy,
nor it's too hard.

Only thing I can add is that all clans created within the 1 year can be part of this,
so HH can play in this too.

Cheers!

Oh I knew we were in, I wouldn't miss it for the world. Maybe it is the name that needs changing. Afterall exactly how long have VDLL been around :o Here's a picture of them at their very first planning meeting'

Anyways please count this post as HH's official entry request.

Best official entry request I've ever seen :D

I see where Keefie is coming from though, LEG and VDLL etc are far from "new" even though they've dropped in the ranks.
Same with TFFS.

Anyway, I think its a good event that serves a purpose, so they dont tie up the likes of CC3 etc until they REALLY know whats going on.

I would tend to agree with Keefie about where the line is drawn. Perhaps it should be at 25-28 instead of 20...

Unless I start begging clans to join, this will hardly ever go over 12-13 clans.

And there are at most part 4-5 new clans per year.

For now NC served its purpose and pumped out at least one new clan to upper part of ranking.

well benga, maybe you can split bracket, where in one side of bracket play experience teams, and in other side of bracket play new clans, then you will have reserved place in final for less experience team. In this way, new clans will play against new clans, and experience clans will play against same quality clans.

Take ranking and best 4 of old put in one side of bracket and 2 worst ranked put with 3 new in other side of ranking.

A-Best 1 ranked vs Best 3 ranked
--------------------------------------->F-Winner A vs Winner B
B-Best 2 ranked vs Best 4 ranked

-----------------------------------

C-Best 5 ranked vs Best 6 ranked
---------------------------------------->G-Winner C vs Winner D
D-Random New Clan 3 vs Winner E

Qualification Round-
E-Random New Clan 1 vs Random New Clan 2
========================================
Final-Winner F vs Winner G

Plain and simple, you will get chance to new clans to play in semifinal, and have chance against less strong old clan to fight for finale. And winner will have 3 wins ;)

@ qwert and Keefie

If I was just to organize a pure Newcomers Cup, every clan would get only one time to play in it.

There's no more newcomer anything in most of those clans.

Also I would have to ban any clan that was started by experienced players or former clan leaders.

I had to draw the line somewhere and this is best I could come up.

Also during the whole time I also invited all of those clans
and only those that really wanted to participate truly did so, others were not interested.

And as a last thing, I am trying to give birth :D here to some new clan that can do something relevant
in the future and not just be a punching bag.

The come out as a winner you must show more then just appear on the battlefield.

hmm,i dont know why you answer to me? I give you only a suggestion how to help new clans ,to have some decent start in some competition.
If some of new clan play against Otpisani( who have large number of former Nemesis), then they have chance for disaster result, and this its a way to be punching bag.
Look this like Uefa Champion League qualification, they have two road of qualification-road of champion, and road of non champion.
Every experience clan will be like i sugested on road of champion, and new clan will be on road of non champion, and in end the winner will play in finale. Then you will give chance to new clans to show something. Its only sugestion , you do how you want ;)

But any new clans will be punching bag against Otpisani in first round, and this will be demoralised for this clan, so i put mine money on Otpisani against any new clan :-$

Yes but you added two clans to non champion route make their way easier to the finals.

I have already made my ruling.

Bracket will be random.

I think having the random bracket is a great idea for this tournament, especially since most of the new clans you would have a tough time placing into the right ranks.

I really think most of the new clans can take each other out pretty easily, and the end be very close in score. I know NC2 had all the wars within like 5 games or so, except for 1 incident was outside that.
