clickable maps
Is it cheating to use clickable maps? I have been accused in this game: Game 11106422
Yes I use clickable maps. Yes I use it to win a lot of 1-minute freestyle games. Is this cheating?
I want to get your opinions. Thanks.

NO I feel it is an unfair advantage to those who do. Its a game of chance and stratagy, not being the fastest to deploy and attack..

If you don't use Clickable Maps, then don't play Speed Freestyle. Since you know that most people that play this have Clickable Maps.Tracy_bangs_Rob wrote:NO I feel it is an unfair advantage to those who do. Its a game of chance and stratagy, not being the fastest to deploy and attack..

just seems like the only reason people use it is too win unfairly, if was an opition that was on the site automaticly then so be it, but not everyone has the means to download that program.

Re: clickable maps
Almost all of my opponents in 1-minute freestyle use it, so if I didn't use it then I would be at a disadvantage. How am I supposed to know which of my opponents use it and which of my opponents don't? It's unfair to accuse me of cheating because it's offered equally to all players and I am using it to be equal to all of my opponents who do use it.
Again, how am I supposed to know if my opponent is using it or not?
Also, you tried to auto your stack on me but obviously I was much faster because I had clickable maps. The point is we had the exact same strategy, I was just faster. If you don't want it to come down to speed then you shouldn't be playing 1-minute freestyle. EVERY 1-minute freestyle game comes down to speed. Nobody is forcing you to play this.
Highlandattack, the reason I foed you is because the clan I was in proved to me that you are 100% scum and I agreed. Your post had nothing to do with the topic so refrain from speaking, scum.

Re: clickable maps
Not cheating. Freestyle speed is almost an entirely different game than the rest of the site. It is a crazy, fast-paced game that relies on quickness. Many don't like it because it is so different. That said, if it wasn't about who had or could best use clickable maps, it would be about who had the bigger monitor (to see the map and deploy/attack options) and who could use their keyboard and mouse to use dropdown menus, etc. the fastest.
Part of me wonders why you're asking this? If it was against the rules, some version of it wouldn't be integrated into the site. Nor would it be an "Available Tools and Enhancement."

Re: clickable maps
Its unfair because lack made his version of clickies completely useless when it comes to being fast. If you have the time or inclination you can look in the mod forms for my posts suggesting that he make the site clickies similar to the firefox addon clickies which he clearly didn't follow. The controls are non speed friendly and there is a great deal of switching which button you are clicking which makes playing fast harder and more mistake prone.TheForgivenOne wrote:How is it unfair when a version of CLickies is offered by the site...?Tracy_bangs_Rob wrote:NO I feel it is an unfair advantage to those who do. The inclusion of the site clickies has actually made it more unfair in my opinion and should not be given as a valid reason for the allowance of the addon clickapble maps. This is because it used to be very easy for players to tell that players had something that was helping them and would ask questions about how you were so fast. You could then tell them and i even made a thread explaining how to install them for speed located here http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewto ... 6&t=116987
Now that lack has included his rather shitty and non speed friendly version of clickable maps (i honestly prefer drop downs over his clickies) it makes it much harder for users to tell that players have something extra and ask questions.
All of this said, it is clearly not cheating as there is no site rules against the use of such a script. Though i disagree with it, an argument can be made that it is unfair and unsportsmanlike due to the fact that not everyone has the ability to install them for various reasons. I think the burden lies on them to know that others will be using this addon and realize they will have this disadvantage, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

First of all, rights are complete BS.. You do not have a RIGHT to anything. You have no right to have clean water, you have no right to live, you have no right to do anything! Its society telling you what you can/can not do! If I really wanted, I could go out and shoot up my street and no one would stop me. I'd get in trouble for it, sure, but nothing stopped me from doing the act. "Right and wrong" are decided by who controls the majority of the people. So if the majority of people decide it is okay to eat other humans, it will become inevitably accepted to eat people! (just sayin')....Tracy_bangs_Rob wrote:again whatever do what you want..Ill just foe anyone that has it, which is my right to do.
On topic: Clickies, since they are offered by the site, are LEGAL. This means you can use them too. If you want to play freestyle, use them! Of course, you don't have to use them, but they're there for an advantage lol. Personally I think they should have them installed already on the site.. anyhow, you're a total pussy if you foe people because you don't want to play them because they're better than you at freestyle. Tracy I like you, i do, and no offense, but you really need to rethink how you play, if you're going around doing that..

Re: clickable maps
I am SOOOO pleased to have been advised of clickies. I really enjoyed playing freestyle until I bumped into a few players who moved at lightening and unbelievable speed. At first I thought it was just my crap internet connection. But over time I smelled a rat. I asked some of these opponents how they moved so quickly. Every single one of them said that they were just good and practiced lots. Now I know the truth and it is good. Indeed, the joke was on me for not going out of my way to properly educate myself. I don't blame any of those people for teaching me a lesson as that is part of this game. We all know things that other people don't know. But now I know about clickies I know I can never play freestyle again. That makes me sad but that's the truth of it. I use explorer and don't like Firefox. That's my choice. But for the rest of you bravehearts who want to play freestyle without clickies ... sorry you are an extinct species. So don't get med. Adapt. Either give up freestyle or get clickies. There's no middle ground!! This has nothing to do with morality, ethics or gameplay - it's just the tools of the trade. Kit up or move on. For me, I'm moving on.

Re: clickable maps
I wouldn't dream of playing the Conquer Club computer program without Clickable Maps. Tracy, if the reason you're not using clickies is that you're using IE, Clickable Maps is an excellent reason to switch to FF or Chrome, along with BOB and Assault Odds (these are also add-ons that greatly aid in playing, particularly in Fog games and in calculating kill runs).
I personally don't play much freestyle, and on the occasions that I've had to use IE to play without my clickies, my turns were painfully cumbersome. It really is a great add-on. Try it, you'll like it!

Re: clickable maps
my god.. you can't imagine how much this pains me to defend pit.... but it's not unfair at all to use clicks.... it brings a completely unique aspect to gameplay... and in reference to ljex's comment that not everyone can download them.. well... it's a site that you choose to play at, and some choose to pay to play... you can choose not to join freestyle games if you are aware that clicks exists and believe that you can't compete... to me, it's similar to choosing not to play maps that you don't want to play... why don't you want to play them? because you don't think you have a good chance at competing... And anyone who is a good freestyler knows that sheer speed is not the only key to freestyle...

I was simply posting an argument that you can't say people do not have a right to do anything. In fact people do have rights. If someone can hold in their mind something that is good or proper then they can have rights. I would argue that all humans can and do hold something in their mind that is good and proper. That was the purpose of my post was to argue with the line which stated "you do not have a right to do anything"
