Making lists up to 8 will be easier

Simple stuff really, but I honestly don't know if implementing it will be easy or a pain. I think it's a fairly common set of key strokes, and there's always the smiley list on the right if you actually want to use the smiley instead.

But, anyway, you missed the most obvious solution, just put a space in front of the 8 and the )

Which is what most folks would do. I'm not going to be an ass on this, but if it's a case of changing key combos for the smilies, doesn't seem too tough.

When you post a post, there are checkboxes underneath, one of them says "disable emoticons" or some shit like that, just move your mouse cursor over that box and make some sweet finger love on it until an X appears, then you're good to go.

I have no idea if it's difficult to implement, but it would certainly annoy some people who use that particular emoticon. (Yes, I know the majority click one from the list, but there are still quite a few who type them manually.)

Just insert the extra space, and you can forever feel that you are performing an important service, compromising your own convenience for the greater good.

Seriously though, do a lot of people use that smiley?

I'm not wanting this to be a huge forum changing suggestion or anything, just seemed like kind of an easy one.

No objection, just seems like given that there are so many workarounds for those that want to post the smiley, disabling 8) as a shortcut might be kind of simple.
