Looking forward to play this kab :)! One of the few starting territ maps that can support 10 player games as well. If we get that feature I can foresee some really wonderful games on this map :)! This map should be played with unlimited reinforcement for most enjoyment right?

          Beta - Quenching

---The Final Forge period has concluded for the King's Court 2 Map. All objections have had their time. The Foundry and I hereby brand this map with the Foundry Beta Brand. Let it be known that this map is now ready for BETA Play. After an extended period of time in BETA and once all quirks and issues have been resolved, the map will be put into Full Play (barring any Lack vetoes).

Conquer Club, enjoy!

              Image

While the map is in BETA Play, there are a couple of administrative tasks that are required of the mapmaker(s) in addition to the initial gameplay testing:
    1. Please ensure that the first post of the thread contains all the necessary information to help future visitors to the development thread; it's particularly important to ensure the most recent images are there, along with any helpful guides (such as gameplay quirks/nuances or the location/size of any starting neutrals etc.)
    2. Finally, it is the responsibility of the mapmaker(s) to ensure that they respond to further feedback in a timely and constructive manner.

Is super sizing this map a necessity.. I find it rather tedious that this new feature is being implemented on maps.. We already have a size function for those who want to use it.. Such large maps make it cumbersome to view the map, the log, and player keys on the same screen w/o having to scroll.

House HF has 2 archers but no Knight. House HD has 2 knights and no archers.. I believe this gives unfair advantages. Shouldn't all the starting castles have similar abilities?

This map is far too large, almost twice the size of my laptop screen which makes it useless for freestyle - for me anyway.

On this case I just couldn't make it smaller than the small version. To hold the features I wanted, plus 10 starting positions/Castles with a fairly generous distance between them, no way I could do it with the standard size I used on the first King's Court...

We've discussed that already.. Unlike KC1, on which every Castle cluster are all very similar, I wanted, on this one, to give to Castles/Houses different attributes between themselves. Making the player adapt strategies accordingly.

I tried to be as fair as possible, for example: House HF has no Knights, but has a lot of Archers, Catapult is a little cheaper (only 3 neutrals instead of the usual 4) and has (easy) access to 4 woods for production.

My opinion is that making Castle clusters have different characteristics between themselves will spice up the game-play making it more interesting, particularly with fog.

not really sure if this has been discussed before, but it would be nice if the region boarders were a little more defined as sometimes it is hard to tell the region structure of the map. maybe it will be more clear after a few games but as of now i have to look hard to find them which is annoying.

This isn't KC1, this is KC2. Not all the rules are the same. And I don't see in the instructions where is says you get extra bonuses for knights...

Something that doesn't seem as clear now that I am playing is explanation for the college of cardinals. I have quite a few games going already and I've had multiple people ask me what exactly it bombards. The instructions say that it bombards all of the court members (which is everyone is the middle), but it never implicitly says who is a court member. Something needs worded differently I think.

If I read it correctly, the court members are the king, counselors, and noble families.

Yes, Isaiah has corrected me about the knights/castles. It was written with the castle portion instead of the knights. Odd...

You are right about who the court members are, but I think it needs to be clearer. Also, where the objective is stated, it says objectives... that should probably just say objective, since there is only 1.

yes, there should be a bonus for owning a castle and every 2 knights.... and that's not working. (not really sure if that's a needed bonus, now that we're playing without it, btw)

Another thing that's not working, are the objectives..... I'm going to take a look at the XML :?
