When i played 2 years ago, I would always try to break a bonus through a multiple of 1's instead of a bigger number because i thought i'd have a better chance through luck than i would through trying to go against a bigger number because they would have equal dice as me. I thought you were suppose to have a much better chance with 3 dice vs 1... but like many people have experienced, i've recently have had horrible experiences with 1's. I don't really understand. I guess it's just random, but then again... 2 years ago, it was not this "scary". haha. Just a thought.

I'd rather go through four 1s than one 10 stack.

But I'd rather go through one 3 than seventeen 1s.

Even then, it really depends on the settings, map, position, wind speed, etc.

If you had to go through a region with a stack of 6, or 5 regions with 1's on them which would you choose? Anyone who choose the 1's need to rethink their strategy! I used to make a similar misstake when I was new at large escalating games. I didn't adjust for if I was taking down a large number of 1's or a big stack. I just counted the number of troops I needed to take down to eliminate a guy, then add like 15% of that and if I had that I thought I was good to go.

I'd just have to find a game that's an example of what i mean. I mean if i have the option of either going through the same number of 1's.... as the giant stack or not. Say I have a chance to go through a 3, or i can go through 3 1's. I would have use to go through the 1s. But now i go through the 3.

As far as strategy, it depends on the game, map conditions, troop/territory count, what color player you are, and daylight savings time (no lie, dice are more favorable to attackers during the summer months in the northern hemisphere, reversed in the southern).
