Congrats to coach Mass Miracle, who led James Madison to the CAA/MAAC tourney title. That fills up half our our automatic bids.
What does the selection show entail? What happens if we can't make the chat? Or is it just revealing the bracket and talking about it in chat?

This. I'm sure. That's what happened for the NCAA football tourney this year that amphibiousrodent put on. He had 1 person show up for it. Which was kind of sad/funny.

Yes, I always think more people will show up, but we usually get a dozen or so it seems.

and yes, I just reveal the brackets along with some analysis of the Regions and we do some chat...it's all of 15 minutes/half-hour. Brackets are posted in the tourney thread...live chat is for reaction mostly.

Flex, I think you mentioned it before, but what time zone are you in, so I know when 10 AM is? You might want to just edit the first post to include that information, as others may have the same question.

Cal's Cinderella run through the Pac12 tournament falls short as they get soundly defeated by Wazzu in the Final. Hopefully their performance over the final weeks was impressive enough to at least garner a NIT bid...

Thanks to all who joined in on the Selection Show this morning...always a fun time.

Brackets are up...pms for power-ups going out shortly. Opening games will be sent once I receive replies on that or by Saturday morning.

NIT bracket is also posted...those games will be going out tonight.

For the Big Dance, remember the tournament rules change to an expanded scoring format, so check the rules (under the standings on the top post) to review how it works.

Quick clarification on power-ups...

Power ups last as long as you stay alive in the tourney, but you are locked in once you make a choice. Also power-ups must be used in separate spots, so no doubling up if you have multiple options.

The only way that changes is when two players request the same sharp-shooter spot, then the higher seed gets priority and the other is asked to change.

Also, keep in mind, power-ups for Stars and 6th-man only have an affect if you win the map that you designate.

A lot of you get to pick the 6th-man power-up and I didn't explain it all that well in the rules/pm post today.

Basically you have three choices for how to use it...1) on your home map; 2) on your opponent's home map or 3) on Canada.

go ahead and give pittsburgh the victory in the west, the dice have been fucking me so hard in 1v1 games lately, especially in this tournament and my soccer tournament. Team games have been ok, maybe even good but in 1v1 games my dice are a joke. Not to mention i dont remember the last time i started in more games than my opponent. Anyway, great tourney again Flex, will look forward to next year's Nebraska team, maybe they wont wear down down the stretch.
