[Medal] Country Defeats Medal

Postby Janomike on Wed Mar 21, 2012 8:01 am

Cross country medal

Concise description:
  • Users who were able to beat multiple players from different countries could be awarded a special cross country medal

Specifics/Details:
  • Awarded to members that defeated 5 unique opponents from X countries. Bronze=20, Silver=40, Gold=60.
  • In order to prevent abuse, an opponent should only be counted once, country at the time of registration could be used.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • People will want to play players from many different countries in order to get the medal. Good possibility to get to know new players

Might be possible to overcome this issue by only counting an opponent once! If you beat a player from the US, while his friend from croatia is sitting he will count for croatia.
If you beat him some days later while back in the owners hand it will not count again for the US.

I am not sure how the technical aspects of this would work out, but I like the idea of the medal.

glad you like my idea!

You dont know where the player really is from, but everytime you log on the system knows where you are playing from because of your ip adress!
This means that the country may change if you are on vacation or beeing sitted by a player from another country. Thats why it should only be counted after you first beat a player.

You are discussing about how one may abuse the system to get the multiple countries medal?
Play with a friend...
Drop the games...
Switch flag...
repeat...
Get the powerful medal...
Seriously?

Please read the suggestions posted, if every player counts only the first time you beat him and if possible with the country at time of registration, there can be no abuse at all.

I don't think this one will/would be implemented based on the fact that every other medal (minus tournament, mapmaker, ratings, GA, etc) all deal with settings in game. This could also get very annoying for a user who lives in a country that has like 7-8 users. People would be inviting them quite a bit just to get the medal.

tl;dr?

Not very uniform among players, doesn't meet normal medal qualifications.

LMAO!!!!

As TFO said, I would end up receiving 4765365o757479357765 invites a day

On a serious note, I don't agree or disagree, but I don't see how it would benefit the game or test a certain skill regarding gaming part!

Yeah, this seems like one of the less cool of the "new medal" type suggestions. I'm not a huge fan.
