Can you top my bad luck?

I just want to rant somewhere... if you want to join, please do.

Past few lost games:
8v1 to 1v1 (0.11% based on Wikipedia)
3 sets at 4 cards, while opponent hit 2 sets at 3 cards (sets of 80, troop counts at 60-70) --> Against like 5 majors, would have bumped me 120 points to colonel T_T
14v5, 1v1 - in the middle of taking out an opponent in an esc. game, which would have led to the game
14v3, 1v1 - exact same map as before, exact same position. (maybe I should stop playing British Isles..)

I understand that I have had good streaks of luck, but for me, I never attempt to take out a player unless I have a good chance of doing so. Good luck means I still take out that player, bad lucks means I handed the game to someone (I play pretty much only 8p escalating).

Really sucks when you lose three games by luck, and then get hit with an 8v1. If you look at the first game I mentioned (10751503), Loire is the chokepoint between red and orange, the two weakest players. And I lost my stack of 8 when my total usable army size was 15 before.

Someone else want to join me in ranting?

40-2, lost everything. Was in AoR II breaking a bonus of 19 (to 7), which would have easily got me the game in the game that would have got me the win in a long and reasonably prestigious tournament.

Probability has a funny way of doing the whole...y'know...random thing. It happens to all of us. The most recent one I remember is me winning 18-2...with one troop left.

I'm sure you've been unlucky, we all have. Sure you can rant, but check your dice stats now and then for your own comfort. Especially when you roll 3.51 which is a tiny bit more than average.

The average roll isn't as important as people make it out to be. You can get crap dice for the first 5 or 6 rounds, have the game be basically decided, and then get amazing dice in the last few rounds when you have no chance of winning. Even if overall, the dice average out, people can still be incredibly unlucky about when the bad dice happen.

I find battle outcome more accurate. If you roll three 5's and your opponent rolls one 6, then it doesn't matter.
It's just losing the decisive battles that makes me sad

Sure, I'll be the last one to argue that. But people can be incredibly lucky about when the good dice happen as well. In the long run, that also evens out.

Losing decisive battles is never a nice experience, we all felt it, got frustrated and turned to booze at least once. There's no shame in that!

this is absolutely irrelevant.
and the best example is my most recent loss.
first 2 turns i get awful dice and i can barely conquer a terit. meanwhile my opponent deploys 5 and takes out 6 terits with 3 troops each, then does even more damage.
after 2 turns i had less than half of his troops and he had an insurmountable lead.
then i get decent dice but still i can't come back to the game.
and guess what? at the end when i'm down to my last few terits i get 2 rounds with perfect dice killing 6-7 troops with no loss.
treated as a whole my dice in this game probably were just average and my opponent probably had the same but when you think about it i was actually very unlucky and he was very lucky.

Just curious, if you play for points, how do you possible break even playing 2p sequential against any player if you're not playing on extremely complex maps?

Yeah, but in the two games he mentioned, he's playing 1100's. With a score over 2500, that's near impossible to gain points.

but im happy to hear i´m not the only one with bad dice
