Original Risk Single Elimination Tournament(Winner: aalii)

Postby DaUltimateBully on Sat Nov 19, 2011 5:55 pm

WINNER: AALII

Just a simple tournament following the original rules from Risk as close as Conquer Club's system can get. Specifically, that means:

  • Standard Game Type
  • Singles
  • Classic Map
  • Manual Initial Troop Deployment
  • Sequential Player Order
  • Escalating Spoils
  • Chained Reinforcements
  • No Fog of War
  • No Round Limit

The tournament will be run as a simple bracket. I will organize everyone into 15 groups of 5, and each group will then play one 5 player match. The winners of each group, plus 10 randomly selected runner-ups, will then be reorganized into 5 groups of 5, and another 5 player match will be played. The 5 winners will then play a final match for the win.

You be given 24 hours to join your game or you will be eliminated. If you miss your game in the first round, a reserve will replace you. If you miss your game in the second round, you will be replaced by another randomly selected runner-up(or 3rd place if I run out of 2nds, and so forth). If you miss your game in the final round, you will be replaced by your runner-up. Free members are welcome, but you must keep a spot reserved for the tournament until I contact you saying you have been eliminated(meaning, don't fill the spot immediately after you lose in case I need to shift you back in if someone deadbeats).

If you notice I misspelled your name when I entered it into the list below, please tell me immeadiately.

greenoaks, in response to your comment on the fortification rules in risk, the manual for risk says,
To fortify you position, take as many units as you'd like from one of your territories and move them to another connected territory. (Remember, you MUST leave at least one unit behind - you cannot abandon a territory.)

Territories are "connected" if all the territories in between are also CONTROLLED BY YOU. You cannot pass through enemy territory.

Yes, but as that is the only manual I have, that is what I'm going with. Either way, I since I already have 19 members who are expecting chained, I have no intention of changing it for this tournament.
