And with the luck of the dice, the first bracket tourney is over.

Recap:

Round one-three lasted just over 1.5 hours and the whole tourney lasted 2.5 hours

We had 10 of the 16 that signed up to play show and 3 or 4 of the reserves showed up.

Learned a lot on how to make these happen and be more successful--but since I was able to get a few others to join in the fun we were able to get a 16 player bracketed tourney off the ground.

It is so much fun --hoping others will see this and it can grow.

I know I had a lot of feedback on how well the tourney was run and how fun it was.

I think going forward 25 signups is a good place to start--I think I would let everyone who signed up have a chance to get in the tourney from the start

I staggered it where the first 16 had twenty minutes to join--the reserves the next five and then everyone else after that

All the games ran smooth and we had no issues--it was a bit stressful playing and making sure all the games were being joined properly but it worked out well

In the end, Ugly_Moose and I had a great 2of3 finals with me taking the last two games to win the tourney.

These tourneys are about game night or league night--they can be so fun and entertaining--same as with bowling, darts, foosball, pool, anything really where you gather with friends and enjoy a tourney or game night.

So happy this worked out so well

thanks for the tourney...maybe you could do a double elimination next time. My first game my opponent got the drop, the go, and the dice! I didn't even have a chance. All I think random games would be interesting.

the ideas are plenty--if we pick a night and we have players show up we can do anything

good tourney HA. it would have been even
more fun if I didn't get plastered.

speed tourneys always have an issue with
no shows (people forget, can't do it,
etc). first come first serve basis should do
the trick. so, first 16 players to join games are
in and rest are reserves.

keep maps medium small. random could deliver
a Hive bomb.

Great success. Although I tried my best to keep HA from winning his own tournament it was not to be. HA had the juice behind the dice.

This was a great idea, even if I was crushed in the first round, and I agree with uckuki suggestion about the first in, first serve.
