Although, looking at this bit from the scene, the flavor just screams CPR doc. If that is the case, it raises a few questions. Did the person really think the Iron Butterfly was the most likely target for a kill night 1? Or were they going for the kill as a pseudo vig? Either way, you need to play that role carefully man...blakebowling wrote:On the other side of town, a young man thought someone was in danger. i don't think i have seen that role before, CPR doc. is it some kind of insane doc?
Here slowreactor makes one of the first serious posts of the game, and what does he do with it? He tries to direct the cop. We now know that Iron Butterfly was actually town, so this post could possibly be Slowreactor trying to influence the cop's action and direct it away from himself and his scum buddies. I personally find trying to direct power roles like this to be moderately scummy when the person doesn't have a very good and specific reason behind it.slowreactor wrote:If we have any investigative roles, please check him out tonight. There's a chance that he's some sort of mafia, but from what I can tell he's most likely Kenny... aka probably jester.Iron Butterfly wrote:Thats why I suck...I screwed up the rules again.
Vote Iron Butterfly
Slowreactor certainly seems to believe Wildwilliam's pseudo character claim.slowreactor wrote:<3 MR MACKEYwildwilliam wrote:vote spiesr for having a name that is hard for me to say and remember how to spell, mkay?
But before long he hops onto the train against Wildwilliam, parroting the somewhat weak reasoning of LSU's post immediately prior. Hell, this reasoning is not even correct. The accusation of skimming was in response to this post.slowreactor wrote:So william did you just admit to skimming?
unvote vote WildWilliam.
Does anything in this post look like Wildwilliam is implying that he was skimming? It seems to me to be more or less a joke about him being semi illiterate. How exactly did Slowreactor pull an admittance of skimming out of here?wildwilliam wrote:Listen, mkay, just because you can spell and read, does not mean that everyone else can mkay. Everyone knows my role and I am doomed for a Lynch. When it happens please look to safari and speisr.
Not even going to attempt to roleclaim at L-2? Your response is: "I said 'mmkay' in my posts, so the guys who don't believe me are scum"?
unvote vote wildwilliam

VOTE: drunkmonkey--From wild's softclaim, it would be fairly easy to guess Mr. Mackey, Vanilla Townie. Also, so far, you've jumped on bandwagons, and haven't tried to get any real info out of anyone. Also, FOS spiesr, but I have to read the thread more, and monkey seems more scummy.

Another point about this vote is that the timing was key. Slowreactor's vote was the third one on Wildwilliam, and at a time when Slowreactor had three votes himself. There is a decent chance that Slowreactor was getting woried about having the lead in votes, which can be deadly on day one once people start feeling some pressure from the deadline, and took this chance to get the ball rolling on Wildwilliam, hoping that momentum would push that case past his own in prominence. As you can see from reading back in day 1 this ends up working out, as Wildwilliam's mistake when responding to Safariguy pushes him past the point of no return. Soon, people frustrated by Wildwilliam's annoying posts and poor self defense, latch onto the only case going anywhere and his then inevitable lynch quickly follows. Wildwilliam really dug his own grave, but Slowreactor gave him the shovel.
Anyhow, since I see entirely nothing else to really go on right now, Vote Slowreactor.
spiesr wrote:Yeah, sorry wildwilliam, but you have now become the official day 1 bandwagon. Unvote Vote WildWilly. Basically you have done something that seems vaguely scummy and makes you stand out. On day 1 that is often the best we can do for a lynch, so at this point I will join in, as it looks inevitable that you will get enough votes to be lynched unless you throw up a competent defense/claim. So my vote is here is basically speed up this process. With you now at lynch -3 I suggest that you start on that defense buddy.drunkmonkey wrote:Not sure how to approach this on D1. No use in forcing you to claim, since we already know what that would be. I guess we could get a role from you, but I'm not sure that would be any help at this point in the game. Either we believe you or we don't. At this point, FOS wildwilliam.
The question here then, is what do you think there would have been to gain from having the cop visit a jester? I am not even sure what sort result a cop would get upon visiting a jester, but I am fairly confident that the result wouldn't simply say "Jester." Depending on the mod, I could see the result coming back as either "Innocent" or "Third Party." So would that result actually have been that useful to us, when the alternative would be the cop investigating some other person and possibly finding a scum?slowreactor wrote:@ the Iron Butterfly comment: If Kenny isn't in this game I'll be damned, and based on what IB did, I honestly believed that Kenny would be a jester.
And yet after you come to this realization you don't bother to change your vote or anything. The vote that you appear to have made primarily on your mistaken assumption that Wildwillaim had been skimming.slowreactor wrote:@ wildwilliam. READ MY POST AFTER THE ONES YOU QUOTED. I specifically said that I misread his posts. Frankly, it's not that easy trying to decipher what he has been saying...
Not exactly. From his posts we were able to deduce that he was basically claiming that his character was Mr. Mackey and that he had a post restriction. However, that is all that we could conclude. He gave no information at that point regarding what his actual role was. Vanilla townies were stated to be in this game, but we didn't know what the density of such roles is. Until, Wildwilliam were to tell us something we could make no real conclusions about what his role was. We didn't, and still basically don't, have enough information to know which characters are mafia aligned in this game. He could have been telling the truth about his character and post restriction and still been mafia, we couldn't know for sure at the time. He could also have simply been lying about his character and post restriction. If you can convince that town that you are such and such character right from the begging it can take a lot of pressure away from you and let you fly under the radar in later days.usAir wrote:From wild's softclaim, it would be fairly easy to guess Mr. Mackey, Vanilla Townie.
