My wife has always wanted to live there, I already have a few family members and friends there, and I think it's time for a change.Anarkistsdream wrote:Why Australia?Jesse, Bad Boy wrote:Airplane, Sydney, Hotel, Sex, Kangaroos, Rock, House Browsing, Job Browsing, Sex, Airplane, New York.Anarkistsdream wrote:People fought, people cried, people won and people died...Jesse, Bad Boy wrote:Summary of last 2 weeks plox.

Well good luck, man! How did the job search go?Jesse, Bad Boy wrote:Not that tough if you already speak English and have relatives there, although I think I'll go for a permanent residency like my Bahamian friend and my wifes relatives that live down there.Anarkistsdream wrote:How hard is it to be naturalized?

On the other hand, we found a few good houses worth keeping our eyes on in the suburbs of Sydney.

They have a steady demand for High School teachers there, so the wife and I figured I could go back to school and get the requirements for teaching (with my already completed history courses from college a few years ago, I should only need to take the actual teacher classes, or whatever they offer) so I can do that. It'll take me about a year, but it's worth it we think.Anarkistsdream wrote:The job market sucks everywhere, man, unless you know someone... I'm in that same predicament myself...
Good luck to ya, and I hope you and your wife get to move there!
Only problem with that is that I didn't really meet anyone there who had good info on the teaching layout/situation (benefits, standards, etc.), so I am kind of shooting in the dark for now.

The thing about the European Union, though, is that you have to show you have an applicable job skill that someone in their country doesn't already possess.MeDeFe wrote:Denmark has like... 3 or 4 % unemployment rate I hear, getting a job there is easier than getting yourself kidnapped in Iraq.
