I missed something in the rules, which I'd like to append now. When a shot caller beats all 3 opponents in succession, they will remain the shot caller and be required to choose a new map.
Someone asked me about reusing the same map and you may, except under this circumstance.
HORSE is a simple game played with a basketball. The first player attempts a shot and if he/she makes it, the next player must make the same exact shot or he/she receives a letter. Once a player has spelled out H-O-R-S-E, they are out of the game. Last player standing wins!
All games are Automatic, Sequential, Casual, with a 20 round limit. Freemium OK if one spot is always open for tournament.
I'm looking for 16 players, but can expand to 32 as needed.
FREE THROWS
To start, all players will be randomly placed in groups of 4 and will shoot Free Throws (one 4 player game on Classic) to establish the order. (winner is 1st, last out 2nd, etc)
HORSE
1st player in each group is the Shot Caller. They choose a map & settings and play the next in order (the Challenger).
If the shot caller wins, they move on to play the next player on the same map & settings, while the challenger receives a letter (H, then O, then R, etc) and moves to the bottom of the order.
If the challenger wins, they become the shot caller, choose new map and settings and plays the next challenger (in order). The losing shot caller moves to the bottom of the order but DOES NOT receive a letter.
WINNER
Players keep cycling through until they have spelled HORSE, they they are out. Last player without HORSE moves on to the next round of 4. Winner of the final group of 4 wins the tournament.
RULES
Games will be sent by invite. Two unanswered invites result in a loss, letter (even for shot caller) and a move to the bottom of the order. Repeat absences without prior notice will be removed from the round & tournament.
So as not to waste time, winning challengers will be required to post here or private message me with their new map and settings of choice. If such notification is not received by the time the next batch of games is created, the previous map & settings will be used.
This will be a fairly casual tournament, but could last a while. You will only play 1 game at a time. It is likely that this tournament could last up to a year, if not over, depending on the # of sign-ups.
