Robert Baratheon
Robert sat upon his Iron Throne, staring at all his subjects down before him.
How had it come to this? Robert felt the war coming a long time ago, but never like this. What he could give for a simple war, with a common enemy. Viserys's invasion with the Dothraki seemed like it would be a much simpler situation. The peace that Robert had created when he smashed Rhaegar Targaryen's chest in, when he sat upon the Iron throne, when he married Cersei and sealed his alliance to the Lannisters, all of that was gone. The war to throw down Aerys, all in vain. Robert stared at the bodies arranged at the foot of the stairs. Catelyn's body was wrapped in in Stark colours, Eddard gazing with a iron face, unchanging and unreadable. Their son, there was a fire of vengeance there.
Robert looked back on his only ties to House Lannister: the bodies of his son Joffrey and his wife Cersei. Tywin's wroth will be immeasurable. Unless he executed the Stark boy, and Tywin would demand the lives of all the Starks, this was outright war and Tywin was marching on King's Landing.
The threat brought panic to the city. All the Lords came forward in the council hall, claimed their identity and pledged their allegiance and all the men that they could spare. One man's claim, of the Lord Commander of the King's Guard brought only derision.
"Two royal bodies lay before you and claim to be their protector?" A voice called out.
"I was protecting his Grace, like I had done the night before" The old man protested.
"Tell me, Lord Commander, if that's who you are. How many Kings have died, while you have lived sworn to protect them? How many Queens, how many apparent heirs?" Robert asked. This was met with great approval, while the old man said nothing.
"Either he's a liar and an agent of the Lannisters, one within the city would spell doom for us all, or he's as useless as nipples on breastplate" A voice called out and it was with even more approval.
Robert looked to Ser Ilyn Payne and gave him the command, the entire council hall agreeing with him.
As the King's Justice walked to the old man, Robert knew that they had erred. The man was not weak, nor a spy, not begging for his life or attempting a desperate example. He accepted his punishment meekly.
Victor Sullivan-Barristan Selmy-Lord Commander of the Kingsguard-doctor has been lynched
OOC Mod: Firstly how on earth, does a "You have a reputation to be envied, as one of the greatest knights in this realm." mean that you are hated? I was seriously contemplating replacing Victor as it had seemed he was completely disinterested in the game as evident through his claim. I don't blame town here.
