I look forward to taking this on sometime. But I think I need to play the South America map a few more times first!

Just wanted to say that this map is gorgeous. I enjoyed the North America map by itself, but once I saw this map, I was stunned. This is probably the best map I have seen yet. Kudos!

I'm currently playing this map and have a bug issue...

The "1 additional troop for every 4 territories with a minimum of 4 troops" doesn't trigger. Myself and my partner went for that bonus early in the game but it has never triggered. If this is not a real bonus then it should be removed as it is a distraction.

Other than that this is a really beautiful map and very fun to play =D> :D

I remember going for that bonus myself once and I didn't get that extra troop either! I'm sure we've just misunderstood the requirements! Would be nice to hear from someone who knows how to get that bonus :) !

You're getting the bonus already.

2011-08-17 07:12:16 - DivineRight received 4 troops for 7 regions

That's 4 troops for 7 regions, as it says minimum is 4. When you get to 20 regions, you'll get +5.

Ah now i see so you get 1 extra troop for every 4:th region you hold. and the minimum of troops you get regardless of how few regions you hold is 4 troops (the standard 3 + 1). When I have 8 regions I'll get 5 troops and when I have 12 I'll get 6! When I first read that (and I'm sure Divineright did too) I thought it meant that you get 1 extra troop for every 4 region with 4 troops on it! A period after the first sentence would put a stop to the misunderstanding!

Um, no. When you have 20 regions, you'll get 5. It works the same way as the regular territory bonus, only it's 1 for 4 instead of 1 for 3 and the minimum is 4 instead of 3.

when i first saw your complaint i thought "wow i've been expecting for such a xml update for so long. receiving a bonus that takes into consideration the amount of troops on a terit is wonderful, i'd better use this on one of my maps"
then natty came and explained the problem and my dreams went down the drain.
unfortunately the way that's worded on the map really makes you think you need 4 terits with 4 troops on them :)

Would be cool with a feature like that! Though I already thought it existed :) !

The wording is indeed quite confusing! I suggest something like this; One troop is awarded for every fourth region and the lowest amount of troops awarded is four.

Deploy one troop for every four regions,
a given minimum of four troops.

I think that the "deploy" part would help some of the confusion.

Ok, the way it is currently worded: "One troop for every four territories with a minimum of four troops" is VERY misleading. I played a game where I was trying to get 4 troops on all my territories so I could get the bonus troops. Get it? It makes it sound like for every four territories that you have at least four troops on you get an additional troop!

Yes, it might have been better to say "One troop for every four territories; minimum of four troops". As you must understand by now, the intent of the legend is to point out the difference from what appears in the Instructions:

I. Deploying Your Troops

At the beginning of every turn you will collect a certain amount of troops. The number of troops you get is determined by this formula:

(regions ÷ 3, minimum of 3) + zone bonus + spoils bonus

Exactly what I thought. Luckily I came here before starting my first game on the map, which looks great btw!
