If everyone was like you, there'd be no such thing as laughter in the world. People/things die all the time, for reasons that aren't "right", whether it was because it was too soon, they didn't have time to tell people they loved them or whatever. It's just a matter of being able to find a balance between respect, and the ability to displace yourself from a situation and maybe provide a little bit of relief in the form of humor.

Or I guess we could all still feel really bad about the holocaust and atomic bombings... I mean someone has to live with the guilt of all those innocent lives taken... And if you're over that one in a decade or two, you can think about pearl harbor, 9/11, the oklahoma city bombing, etc., etc.

Did you know them personally? If yes, my apologies. If no, I am wondering whether they brainwash you in Canada as well.

Look, they did not just die for their country. They died because their country has decided to change a regime in a country, a regime supported by over 40% of population of that country (arguably - I count pushtuns). They died because they were in a hostile country conducting essentially terrorrist activities there as well as in a neighbhoring country (Pakistan). So they were a fair target and they got unlucky

To be honest, it upsets me more when US drones hit another wedding party

Obviously, they were brave men and women, and highly trained proffessionals, and it was such a waste they were killed young: with their skills they had a chance to kill many taliban and members of taliban families and just random civilians making Afghanistan much happier place. On the other hand, about 150000 people die every day, that is, about 2 every second. How can you laugh when 30 people died while I was typing this message
