I like this plan. I don't know if it's really necessary to enumerate that if you have mind and reason, you don't get the neg. bonus.ClessAlvein wrote:Maybe make the text say "-1 for Mind without Reason" instead of just enumerating the penalty? The play on words is rather nice
And... I, along with many others, really hate the new impassable barriers. I actually didn't see huge problems with the old ones, but the new ones are... disgusting.

Well here are the old borders and toned down colored territory borders.
I added the +0 for Mind with reason to make sure everyone knows that there is still not a penalty if you have both.

I agree this could be better. At one time, we discussed naming the "symbol territories" seats of the continents. For example "Seat of Death" or "Seat of Law". If that were the case we could simplify the instructions by simply refering to them collectively as "Seats".KEYOGI wrote:I'm still not sure the Allied bonus system is worded clearly enough. I realise it's a hard part to get right, but I think it's a pretty important part of the map.
Any Alliance +2
(diagram)
An Alliance requires 3 seats: any Seat plus the opposite Seat's two neighbors.
Isn't that shorter/simpler/clearer?

Well I did change it and others liked the way this one looked. However I will exlain why the skull looks like this. The ENTIRE 8 Thoughts map is done in photoshop with black paint. ONLY BALCK PAINT! All color you see is done with layer style/blending effects. I was trying to make (to see if I could do it) an entire map like this for two reasons. 1) To see if it could be done. Can I make a map only using black paint and the power of photoshop s effects and blending? 2) If I can then others might get a better idea of its power. All of the texture and blending and layering, all of that is done with black paint.Captain Crash wrote:I still think you can do a much better skull than that WM. It looks lopside and bigheaded.
The map was an exercise in photoshop. With all of the other map makers out there I wanted to show them that with a little work you can make a good looking map with only black paint and your imagination.
Still. I will look into making new skull and we can vote.

And this is better than the one with the wonky jaw but, from the graphics you have produced already, I really think that you can improve the skull some more!WidowMakers wrote:Well I did change it and others liked the way this one looked.Captain Crash wrote:I still think you can do a much better skull than that WM. WM, you're going to want to shoot me, but... regarding the new skull... I can't get past the feeling that the black shading on the left side is something growing on it, or tarred on, or something... not an actual part of the skull. I like the shape much better than the old one, but I like the clean white look of the old one better. Can you get rid of the black goop?
I couldn't disagree more, but whatever.Nikolai wrote:WM, you're going to want to shoot me, but... regarding the new skull... The black 'goop' looks, IMO, like it's emerging from a shadow, and is very cool!Nikolai wrote:WM, you're going to want to shoot me, but... regarding the new skull...
