As described this will be my 1st time hosting a CC tournament. I have been playing in tournaments for quite a while now and have had a lot of fun. I figured it's about time I contribute to the tournament world with one of my own! I do have some different, more interesting tournament ideas mulling in my head, but to start I want to do a simple 1v1 single elimination tournament.
Rules: Each round there will be a 1v1 match on certain maps(listed below) the winner advances and the loser is out. For rounds 1 and 2 it will only be a 1 game match, winner of that single game moves on, loser is out of the tournament. In round 3, it will be a best of 3 games, winner of at least 2 games will advance, loser is out. Round 4(Finals) will be a best of 5 series, the winner of at least 3 will win the tournament!
Requirements to join: Must have a 95% attendance rate, and 10 games completed.
Free players are allowed to join, as the 1st 2 rounds only have 1 game at a time. If a freemium player makes the final 2 rounds, we will play the games 1 at a time, until the minimum number of wins to advance is reached. Other than this exception, all games will be sent at once.
Universal Settings (all rounds): Standard Automatic Sequential Escalating Chained No Fog
Maps used in each round: Round 1: USA Rockies (1 game) Round 2: Hong Kong (1 game) Round 3: Alexander's Empire (Best of 3) Round 4: Middle East (Best of 5)
To join simply post in the thread that you want in. When 16 players are in, I will randomize the seeds using random.org and then place them in a 16 player standard bracket. Seeds are not determined by rank/points. I will accept 2 reserves, who will only be used in the 1st round. All players have at least 48 hours to join games, or 2 invites. If after 2 invites games are not joined in round 1 a reserve will replace that player. If someone does not join in round 2 or later, the player that they beat in the previous round will take their place. (Ex: Seed 2 beats 15, then deadbeats round 2, the 15 will take the spot and continue in seed 2's place).
