Forgiven makes a solid point. Nuclear is bad enough, this would be worse. I am going to take back my earlier approval, I HATE stalemates. It would be even worse than a stalemate, come to think of it since in a stalemate you can decide to break it if you just want it over but in this scenario you don't even have the tools.

and thinking about it, in an 8-player game, it's possible to have 5 cards and not get a set of three matching cards if they match the players' colors. This would mean the max limit for cards would have to go up to 17 to be sure someone would have a match of a player.
Overall I like it but it may be an option that is hardly used, such as no spoils option. About the stalemate part, I'm not quite sure how it would cause a stalemate, seeing it might take awhile (depending on no. of players) for someone to be able to cash in a set.
