Wow i started reading this thread and gave up after 10minutes... way too long

Anyway It appears what Dug did wasn't really against the rules however wanting to get revenge so badly that you go to such extremes to me is just sad & you 2 need to sort your differences out because it's just pathetic.

This is the question at hand. If Dug intended to break the rules but failed, can he be punished? It's sort of like suicide... the crime where the only punishment is if you fail. There is the lurking question of whether he's broken the rules in this manner before, which would merit punishment... but we have no way of proving that. So, he attempted to break the rules and failed. And he attempted to break the rules in an extremely unsportsmanlike manner. Eh, he's a douche, and people should put him on ignore. Punishment? I dunno. Frankly, it's up to lack. Maybe a mild punishment of some sort... temporary ban, downgrade his account, whatever...
But the thing I'd really like to see is a comment from lack - not just the mods (sorry guys, you're important, but...) - about this situation, for the sake of precedent. Any chance?

the thing is, is this was a triples partner dugg was trying to get to go against...I know I can trust my teammates to never go against me and they can trust the same in me. Blitz will grab any person off the site just to get points. Thats what dugcarr1 was going against. Its really a trust issue and the fact that killroy considered it shows he isn't loyal to his friends.

First of all, I personally would never gang up on any person, just because he has more points.

On the other hand, one thing is when you know upfront, before you start you game that you will be squeezed by every player. And you have an option NOT to join this game.

Completely another story when you start playing and your partner is bribed to throw away his games (or someone else would do it instead of him).

Don't you see the difference, Kyle? At least to say, it is very sneaky. And if you would have been in this situation, you will be posting in forums, and complaining, like there is no tomorrow.

Third, I don't hear altergren complaining here, if anything he is completely behind Blitzaholic.

Im sure that the points system could be improved somehow, although Im pretty satisfied with it. Without quoting to much, I tend to remember that thats one of the factors dug seems to have done what he did.
Anyway I think its up to anyone to try and get as good position as possible(within the rules) or just to play for fun.

Do we really need a rule saying you cant try and buy other guys accounts. Thats pretty much multi for me. But since there are no rule, and since I couldnt care less about dugs behaviour since Ill probably never become a general I wont bother to discuss if he should be punished or not.

As usual this just became a lot of mumbojumbo noone can understand. Ill just finish with one brief summary.

The day CC is about who haves the most money Ill quit!

Dug appears to be an idiot, not realising that ANY possible point system can be manipulated (has he even suggested one yet??), using or trying methods that many others find unethical, accusing others about PLAYING the system, etc, but at least he brings some FUN to CC. The site needs him, probably even more than some other people.

So please do NOT ban him. Actually, he should be rewarded a medal or something instead.

Also I'm wondering why people are adding him to their ignore lists... isn't THAT taking things too seriously? What if he showed up into one of your games - wouldn't that be a good opportunity to teach him a lesson, the same way he wishes to teach lessons to other people? So what if the game was ruined for you, you had fun doing it eh?

What I'm saying is, let Dug be, and enjoy the show

Ive been following this thread for a while, listening to both sides of the argument. I do think that what dugcarr did is MORALLY WRONG, but it is not directly against the rules. I am undecided what should happen to dug, but i do think further regulations should be put in place to prevent this from ever happening again.

and seeing as i did not break any CC rules i am not banned.

people are just bitching because from my WORDS and WORDS alone (that have been recycled through 3 or more people before posted), they ASSume that i coulda went further which in there eyes woulda been breaking a rule ( that dosnt even exist).

The ModSquad and I have been watching this topic for a while, and we've all come to agreement on action.

Due to the fact that Dugcarr1 specifically confessed to the allegations at hand, we are forced to come to this decision:

As you know, we like a general hands off rule approach, as is duly noted in our Rules Page. I can say we honestly never imagined anyone would be capable of doing such things. As has been general knowledge in the forum we've always taken 'proactive measures to enforce fair-play.'

As we do not specifically have a rule covering this, we believe we are well within our proactive measures to stomp this out right here now. Thus, Dugcarr1 will be BANNED from the FORUM and PERSONAL MESSAGES for 4 months (I.E. 1/3 year) as the forum was the root of this all.

We all surely hope to never come across anything like this again. Lets all just have fun and kill each other...fairly...alright? See you all on the battlefield,
