Concise description:
Quite simple, make it to where the inbox messages received from a speed game that started auto delete after 1-2 hours
much like how the game invites used to work
How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
will reduce clutter in players' inbox as the only way to get rid of them now is to do so manually

Love it!
But why 24 hours? Why not 1?

Great idea, but I'm with Tim. Make it one or two hours, no need for 24.

the 24 hours was just the 1st thing that came to mind and the game invites were the only thing I had to base my idea off of, I agree 1 to 2 hours would be better so I'll edit my original post

You would only want the PM to delete itself after the person could no longer possibly benefit from seeing it after they log in late after the game starts. The first three rounds in an 8 player speed game could conceivably take two hours total, so the 2 hour timer seems reasonable.

While this is a very good idea (I'll post my suggestions at the end), this would be hard to do with the current forum software. The entire messaging system would have to be modified, with a new field that would link to game numbers, or the code would have to be modified to automatically prune messages older than one hour that are a speed game notification.
Personally, I would like to see an option, like this; Delete Speed Game Notifications: "After I take a turn in the game", "After One Hour", "After I am eliminated from the game", "Never"

1 thought: Does the current system allow messages to stay in the inbox indefinitely? If finite, couldn't that auto-delete # of days to save be changed?blakebowling wrote:While this is a very good idea (I'll post my suggestions at the end), this would be hard to do with the current forum software. another: In this systems PMs, If a user sends a message...and the message is unread by the recipient, does the sender have the ability to delete the message...thereby removing it from the recipients inbox? If so, couldn't an admin go in and delete all of those unread auto-generated messages once or twice per day?

No, the account admin is a robot that isn't managed by the administrators, any messages sent from the admin account are automated.Queen_Herpes wrote:1 thought: Does the current system allow messages to stay in the inbox indefinitely?
