Re: Post-Apocalyptic Mafia - Day 5. Need a replacement.
I think it's caused more by inactivity, rather then disbelief.
Anyway, you guys know I'm not very familiar with maffia, so let me ask this question.
Is it possible for all the 'asylum escapees' to have different allignments? We know for sure that Alexander was town, but does that mean the other ones are as well?
Any references to other games?
And we still haven't got a good lead towards the abomination.

Aye, thus why I said 'not-any-sort-of-non-human thing' instead of claiming those investigations clear peoplesafariguy5 wrote: Yeah it was for post restriction reasons. And they are doing a great job at it. Also skoffin, I might add that being human is nice, but the gigglers are humans too according to what I interpret and that is no guarantee that they are pro town.
I'd just rather see a little something more than post restrictions are bad, as under that logic I should be on the suspect list too.
Yeah, it would be possible to have asylum escapees under different alignments.
The thing about these sorts of games is that I actually believe it is much easier to fake claim. You don't have a set list of characters/roles to choose from, and you are completely free to make up a whole new role to fool people with. (Best part of a game, honestly)
Streakers role, for example, seems to fit well within this game yet it is also the sort of thing I would make up if I were scum in such a setup. Not saying that he definitely did here, just saying it's not wise to simply trust people based on their claim.
And just wondering, any chance you used your truthiness on violet at some point?

Re: Post-Apocalyptic Mafia - Day 3. Replacements needed.
Hmmm, well, I suppose if it could be confirmed as a "cult" I could see it as a plausible role, but I'm unsure, to be, the color and flavor indicate a non-conflictual third party win condition, after all as the mod posted in the death scene "She proclaimed herself a new Pope and decided that from now she will lead humanity... somewhere. It didn't quite matter where, as long as it was her."safariguy5 wrote:Huh, interesting that lots have people haven't unvoted from me and Streaker. I'm inclined to believe him due to the known existence of the Christian Cult, yet everyone seems to believe he's still suspicious.Commander9 wrote:Vote Count:
Streaker (4) - TG, Vio, /, aage
Safari (3) - Edoc, Streaker, Sax
13 alive, 7 to lynch.
This seems to indicate on one hand she wants to lead humanity, somewhat cultish, but it also seems to indicate she had no clear goal in mind, which would be survivor territory rather than the typical "recruit half the town, kill everyone else" win condition of a cult....
But it's just wifom at this point...
Or for a more out there guess,
Perhaps both the Christians and Atheists are rival cults, this could explain why they couldn't recruit the ones streaker targeted, and it would put a new spin on the front page text "Was Darwin right with his theories? Will deceit, immorality and self-importance be victorious over the righteous human values?"
Just speculation for now though, I'll unvote

Re: Post-Apocalyptic Mafia - Day 5. Need a replacement.
Well, things have slowed down quite a bit. In lieu of pushing an inactive for a lynch, I want to go back to this jeraado case.
Knox had originally said that her pm stated that jeraado was untrustworthy. I believe naxus also said this afterwards. At the time, we pressured jeraado enough that he said that he was "a town player" but refused to give even a name.
Now, I haven't seen any doublevoter role or anything that would lead me to believe that claiming would cause a loss of powers. After Knox turns up town, I'm inclined to believe him and am guessing that jeraado may be a traitor.
I'm also concerned that we haven't gotten any of the gigglers and that it could be a possible role for him as well.
In light of neither current case looking promising for a lynch, I will
unvote vote jeraado for full disclosure.

Re: Post-Apocalyptic Mafia - Day 5. Need a replacement.
Yeah, I have gone through the thread, major pain, terrible game up to page 30 ish, got a bit better after that. There really are no leads that I could see, all the remaining anti town factions have been more or less playing by the books, the the few scum kills we have gotten were pretty lucky. I have a few theories as to what kind of roles are out there yet, but there are simply to many characters to make any sort of speculation worthwhile.safariguy5 wrote:Well, things have slowed down quite a bit. In light of Dlanor flipping town and her being told not to trust Jeraado I think we should follow the lead.
Vote Jeraado

I still haven't been replaced? Great. I should be active for the next week or two. After that, I'm not so sure. I'll read up and post when I get the time.

Re: Post-Apocalyptic Mafia - Day 5. Need a replacement.
I really hope this game hasn't died seeing as how no one has posted in two days.
I read through the pages I missed and not much has happened. Streaker's claim seems very convenient, almost too much so. However with this setup, there is no reason to disbelieve him.
I'm all for investigating the insane members of our group. Just because another asylum member turned town does not necessarily mean that the others are all town too. I think that because of their PRs, they have been flying under the radar for most of the game. I will try to go back at some point and make a case on one of them and see where it takes us.
Skoffy, what is your PR? Maybe I'm just oblivious but I haven't noticed it.

Maybe it's because jeraado hasn't shown up as he's the person currently under the gun. I think getting full disclosure from him isn't a bad idea, I cannot fully ignore what role pm's say.

Vote Jerardo
Would like to know more info on him. he's been rather vague and my pm info on him has been bugging me

Okay, time to get this moving - next Friday is the deadline.
But... It was so artistically done.

I'd love to test the insane people. What I am wondering about is, why are you all targeting jeraardo, and not Vio, or Sax?
I'm not saying it's a bad idea, it just seems rather random.

Re: Post-Apocalyptic Mafia - Day 5. Need a replacement.
That is correct. Had I said "This Friday" or "Today", the deadline would be in the next 24 hours. However, since the words were a bit different, you do have a bit more time.Streaker wrote:Oh, and commander9, I assume you mean next week Friday? Not tomorrow?

Ah, k thx. English isn't my primary, so I translated 'next' quite literally.

I'm sticking with my vote on Streaker. His claim seems contrived. (It kinda sounds like my claim in the Restaurant mafia). I went through and re-read his posts, and he appeared less scummy than I initially thought. His scummiest action was the vote on Knox when Knox hadn't the chance to defend himself/herself, which Streaker has already explained. I probably would've unvoted by now, but that claim is just fishy to me.

Re: Post-Apocalyptic Mafia - Day 5. Need a replacement.
As I said before, it's because of Knox saying that his pm said not to trust jeraado. Since he turned up town, it makes me wonder if jeraado is a traitor. Also, remember that jeraado never gave a full roleclaim when under pressure, but just baited with "an unmistakably town name".Streaker wrote:I'd love to test the insane people. Re: Post-Apocalyptic Mafia - Day 5. Need a replacement.
Nope, I never said my name was unmistakably town, I said it would give away my occupation and therefore a pretty decent clue as to my role, hence why I couldn't just give you my name without claiming. And of course I wasn't going to claim unless I had to.safariguy5 wrote:As I said before, it's because of Knox saying that his pm said not to trust jeraado. Ok, I remember the support not quite getting to L-1, so I think putting you there makes sense now. Give away your occupation? Could the name be Benedict Arnold?jeraado wrote:Nope, I never said my name was unmistakably town, I said it would give away my occupation and therefore a pretty decent clue as to my role, hence why I couldn't just give you my name without claiming. Re: Post-Apocalyptic Mafia - Day 5. Deadline looming...
Why the target of Jeraado again? We've been through his case and it looks like people are reapplying the exact same reasoning as before. How does it become magically different now? People are jumping on flavour speculation which Knox himself eventually discounted. (Actually, wasn't all that part of why he got lynched?) It looks like we are heading towards another lynch on shoddy reasoning.
As for my PR, I keep having to refer back to the good 'ole days. Back in my day I had much more energy to keep up with such shenanigans though, I feel I'm not up to scratch for this lately.

Fine, you let the game stagnate then, as scum I am certain that you would like there to be as little action during the day as possible.Skoffin wrote: Why the target of Jeraado again? The difference, as I stated before, is that Knox flipped town and was not a lyncher. Yes it's role speculation, but with half the people barely participating, I'm going after this again because I thought we let jeraado off the hook too easily the first time with Knox's aggressive play laying something of a smokescreen.Skoffin wrote: Why the target of Jeraado again? Re: Post-Apocalyptic Mafia - Day 5. Deadline looming...
I'm not sure about the jeraado thing anymore, as we talked about last day, balance, and so on, I can see a townie or any other faction being told about a scummy to balance the game, like I said, but telling a JOAT is a whole new ballpark, this is telling the dude who can A: investigate you, and B: Kill you. A double whammy of insta-screwed. The only possibility I could see is if jeraado is investigation-proof, and then we're the ones on a new field of mind-screwed with this setup.
