Apparently it's also called Bullrush; Forcing the City Gates; Pom, Pom Pullaway; and Octopus Tag.
We played Red Rover in school, but the teachers banned it. We thought it was fun to clothesline kids as they tried to break the line. Or, I'd rush the line, and run into a kid with my head in his belly. At full speed. Didn't feel too good on me either, but I won. We were cruel kids.btownmeggy wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_roverStopper wrote: But I'm not sure what Red Rover is. It sounds like it might be a make of car.

Well, I think I might have been the first to bring it up. All I said was it looks bizarre, and may I also say a little "dumb", but I didn't suggest it was easy or anything - in fact it looks awful difficult. But that doesn't mean it isn't a bit strange.keiths31 wrote:Curling takes as much skill as any other sport. I only played it in gym class in high school, but it is a great sport. It's not as easy as it looks.
It does sound a great game, but I can't say I've ever played anything quite like that. I should say though, the rough and proud men of Kabaddi stayed quite on their own sides, and didn't hold hands with other players, as far as I remember. God (or Shiva, whatever) forbid that they should ever do that.Serbia wrote:We played Red Rover in school, but the teachers banned it. I have some great red rover memories.Stopper wrote:It does sound a great game, but I can't say I've ever played anything quite like that. You have to be there but I'll try to tell one anyway. This small, annoying, tag along kid was playing. He gets called over so he runs as fast as he can at our side. Instead of trying to run through us, he tries to jump over our arms, but we lift our arms up as he is in the air. He getsx tripped and lands on his face. Good times
SPEED WALKING!
A man was disqualified from the olympics and lost his medal for walking too fast!!!!
i could not believe when i heard the olympics recognized speed walking as a sport.
There's no such thing as speed walking. It's called RUNNING!!!!
and when i heard that cheerleading may become an olympic event, i lost what little faith i had in mankind!

i agree..i am sorry for referring to baseball in such a wayGreecePwns wrote:You know what I really hate? When people try to say a sport is boring by making it simpler than it really is, like "oh, baseball sucks, you just hit the ball and run in a circle." No. All sports require strategy and skill (NASCAR is NOT a sport).
i also agree NASCAR is not a sport..i mean..seriously, the only reason people get "thrills" is the fiery crashes
also, basketball..ugh..most teams just lose by less than 10 points..do they EVER miss?
also, another thing some guy said is completely true- americans like games where you score constantly because they have short attention spans
(i concur as an American)

I think by "ladies" you mean your immature friends who like to compare who has a bigger piece of plastic covering their d1ck. I dont think that's the reason why baseball players wear tight pantsDIRESTRAITS wrote:Just those who like soccer.
