Cook's subforum (suggestion withdrawn)
Concise description:
Create a special subforum, subclan group within the Cook's forum that would allow lower ranked or just inexperienced players to play and, hopefully learn, the variety maps in CC
EDIT -- looks like something similar is already in the works, therefore I withdraw this suggestion.

Re: Cook's subforum
As I noted in my suggestion SOC os geared specifically to classic type maps. The skills translate to most of the standard "area bonus" type maps, but not necessarily to Oasis, AOR, Fuedal, etc.SirSebstar wrote:it this not the SoC?

Re: Cook's subforum
then join up with the SoC.
the only reason they start with the classic map is because teaching the lot is considered too much. now if they had 500 teachers.. that be another apple

I GRADUATED from SOC. It applies ONLY to the standard maps, which I don't like to play much.SirSebstar wrote:then join up with the SoC.

And, yes, i understand fully why they start with classic. I have been around longer than SOC. It helps, but, it only meets some needs. Therefore, I am suggesting an expansion, as described above. This would not take away from the regular SOC, just offer a more formalized route for learning the wide diversity of maps available in CC.

As stated before, start a UserGroup with this focus, and if it grows large enough, it could become an integral part of the website.PLAYER57832 wrote:I GRADUATED from SOC. It applies ONLY to the standard maps, which I don't like to play much.SirSebstar wrote:then join up with the SoC.

Re: Cook's subforum
The society of cooks has a team teaching section that teaches on all maps and settings. It is being revamped now, but should be up and running soon. This will help students gain familiarity with many maps and settings in a controlled environment. Point losses will be smaller because it is team games. Hopefully we can roll out the new team teaching system soon.

Thanks, I think the SOC is a great training program for classic. (and yes, it is best to have first focused on classic).mpjh wrote:The society of cooks has a team teaching section that teaches on all maps and settings. The biggest limitation to diverse maps is the number of people available. There is never going to be a full SOC-style training program for all maps. It is impossible, but I think we could have a shortened version to at least deal with some of the major "types". That, and of course if we could only get people to actually read
anyway, sounds like this is already in the works, so I withdraw my suggestion.
Re: Cook's subforum
The team teaching section is only limited by the experience of the teachers. There is no apriori limitation on maps or settings.
