The most anticipated event on the curling calender meets Conquer Club, This is the Tim Hortons Brier.
This is a 12-team Quads tournament mirroring the actual Tim Hortons Brier taking place in March. All games are automatic, sequential, escalating, chained, and sunny. The maps will be posted in the 2nd post. The tournament will be a Round Robin Format for the first phase followed by a 4 team Page Playoff for the second phase. In the first phase each team will play every other team once over the period of 17 draws (4 games per draw, but only 2 for draw 6). After the round robin phase, the top 4 teams will advance to the second phase, the page playoff. For those uninformed a page playoff is #1teamv#2team and #3teamv#4team. The winner of the 1v2 game goes directly to the finals while the loser plays against the winner of the 3v4 team in the semi-finals. The winner of the semi-finals then plays the winner of the 1v2 game in the finals for the championship.
Here is what will happen in case of a tie in the Round Robin phase. If 2 teams are tied then the team that won the match-up between the 2 in the Round Robin phase gets awarded the higher seed. The only exception to this is if the tie is between the 4th and 5th place team, in which case a tie breaker game will take place before the second phase. If 3 or more teams are tied then the teams are ranked by their record in games between the teams in question. Once again the 4th place vs 5th place rule still applies. If 3 or more teams are still tied after that my only other option will be to judge by most recent results, so if one of the teams won their last game while the others all lost theirs then the team that won their last game would get the seed. I will trace this back as far as necessary to find the higher seed. keep in mind a team cannot get awarded 4th place on a tiebreaker, regardless of ranking the teams in tiebreakers if the 4th and 5th place team are tied in overall record they will play each other in a tiebreaker game. Oh and also if 3 teams are tied for 4th they will do a 3 way tiebreaker. the way that a 3 way tiebreaker will work is that #5 plays #6 and then the winner of that game plays #4 for the playoff spot. If 4 people tie for 4th then its #4 v #7 and #5 v #6 and the 2 winners play against eachother for the playoff berth.
Now for the signups, From each team, I will need the following: four players and one of the 12 teams listed in below. That's it. Your spot will not be reserved until you have four players. Saying "Me and three other guys who will be determined later" does not guarantee you a team. Feel free to post your individual interest, and if I get four of you, I'll put you in a team together. Gather your team and post your official signup in this format: Team: xxxx Team members: xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx
Show up to your game within 48 hours of receiving the PM or you will be replaced
If you have somebody drop out then PM me with their replacement. If you do not have a replacement I will take a player from the reserves.
Freemiums are welcome as there will only be 1 game at a time
Seeing as how this is a Canadian Tournament it only seems fitting to include Canadian maps so this tournament will be played on the 15 maps featuring Canada (or the land where Canada is today) These maps are as followed: Classic, Arctic, Canada, Doodle Earth, Duck and Cover, Extreme Global Warming, First Nations North America, Fractured America, Great Lakes, Land and Sea, Montreal, New World, North America, Vancouver, World 2.1. The order in which these maps are played was decided randomly but Montreal and Vancouver will be played twice. All games will be automatic, sequential, chained, escalating, and sunny.
I've added you to take whatever team is leftover, if you'd like a specific team I'd gladly give you one but as it stands you'll just get the leftover team.
So that means there is only 5 spots left but 6 teams to chose from.
There is only 4 spots left but still 5 teams to choose from people. British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories/Yukon, and Saskatchewan are all available.
If Sparrowhawk doesn't get a team together, I'd like British Columbia (always been a fan of Jim Cotter). However, if he does, we'll settle for Newfoundland and Labrador.
Team Newfoundland and Labrador will be:
General Brock II (Skip!), Pander88uk (Third), mr. CD (Second) and possibly ManBungalow (Lead), but I haven't received a response from Man... Regardless, I'll find a lead.
Neat tournament, incidentally. It should be good fun.
ok I've added your team, since you did not specify which team you want you'll just take whatever team is leftover unless you want a specific team. If you want a specific team let me know.

In as British Columbia, let me know if ManBungalow drops out though.
Ok people only 2 teams left to play as but still 4 available to pick from. If you'd like to sign up a team your choices are New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories/Yukon, or Saskatchewan. But I also have 2 individual players that are interested in joining but do not have a full team, If you have any interest as an individual player feel free to post it and if I get 4 of you I'll put you in a team (I have 2 already)
