I heard that it basically was an IRC channel, can anyone give me the server and the channel name? if I'm completely off-track! just laugh at me

what hecter meant was no it's not an irc channel, it's a chat hosted by the site gabbly.com

At least I don't think it equates to irc...

Everything is IRC. I have a friend that can set it up so that he talks to me on MSN through IRC.

I have NO idea. My friend that does that sort of stuff is a computer genius. He can do anything involving software.

In short no. It was put to a community vote when Lack put the IRC channel and baggly online for a few days.

In the end we went with Gabbly, but it is an inteerim solution, which you've just reminded me i need to speak to Lack about.

The final route will basically be a private hosted server, so we are not reliant on an IRC channel which anyone can access from an actual IRC client rather than through this site, and stop people changing their usernames as they do with Gabbly.

i cant get on gabbly from my home computer anymore...From work i can but from home i cant...

Actually Dex, changing names had become necessary in gabbly now. It's not really a problem anymore, as much as spammers are.

ah now spammers we will be able to do something about, we will have chat mods who can issue warnings, and then issue time set bans on IP or username.
