donate premium
Concise description:
a lot of people quite CC when they have premium so when the quite they can give it to someone.
Specifics/Details:
the person can reclaim the premium if they decide to play again.
How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
this could help people buy premium if someone donates it then someone can then get free premium and if they like it then they can buy there own premium. also if a player dose decide to come back and the premium dosent run out they could click a button under the give premium sign saying something like get your premium back.

Re: donate premium
How will it work?
Lets say I have premium and 75 games going. I say I want to quit and give my premium to player A. Do I get to finish my games? Does player A have to wait for my games to finish before he gets unlimited games? I want to come back and player A has 50 games going, does he get to finish his game over the 4 limit for freemiums? Do I get unlimited games before he finishes his 50 games?
I don't think this would work.

Re: donate premium
This would get abused badly, as four people rotate the premium amongst themselves so they all can play as many games as they'd like.40kguy wrote:Concise description:

Re: donate premium
I thought maybe this was a suggestion to create an organized way to donate premium to those who want it. I just bought Girl Scout cookies for U.S. troops serving in Afghanistan, maybe one day we could have a way to connect with troops who want premium.

There is no fog rule and I am no gentleman.

Now that would be cool, if there were a good way to verify who was actually serving or not. I suppose maybe by IP address, but there are a lot of problems with trying to work that out, as well.squishyg wrote:I thought maybe this was a suggestion to create an organized way to donate premium to those who want it. Something like this would be cool, but you would just get heaps of people saying "Yeah, I'm in the army." and trying to con their way to free premium.squishyg wrote:I just bought Girl Scout cookies for U.S. troops serving in Afghanistan, maybe one day we could have a way to connect with troops who want premium.

Re: donate premium
IMO (and for the most part the shared opinion of CC Administration), gifting premium to some other members = good idea.
Moving an active subscription from one account to another = horrible idea!

So if I wanted to give 2 months of my premium as a prize for a tournament, I'd get a no-go?blakebowling wrote:IMO (and for the most part the shared opinion of CC Administration), gifting premium to some other members = good idea.

Re: donate premium
Yea, what if there was a way to give someone your premium, but have it so that donated premium couldn't be donated? This way there would no way for multiple users to switch back and forth the premium membership. There could be two counter, one that counts the amount of bought premium you have left, and therefore is donate-able, and one that counts the amount of donated premium you have left, and you cannot donate that premium and are stuck with it.Mr_Adams wrote:So if I wanted to give 2 months of my premium as a prize for a tournament, I'd get a no-go?blakebowling wrote:IMO (and for the most part the shared opinion of CC Administration), gifting premium to some other members = good idea.

Re: donate premium
Correct. However, if you award a full year premium as a prize in a tournament, the site will match that donation and allow you to break it up into as small as 3-month pieces. That's a pretty good deal.Mr_Adams wrote:So if I wanted to give 2 months of my premium as a prize for a tournament, I'd get a no-go?blakebowling wrote:IMO (and for the most part the shared opinion of CC Administration), gifting premium to some other members = good idea.

Re: donate premium
ok i got a fix to this.
so you click donate premium when you quite. then it takes away a month of your premium then gives it to them. once you want it to stop you click the stop giving premium button.

Re: donate premium
What happens if the user it was given to was in the middle of a big tournament, when the user pressed the "Stop giving premium" button? All of a sudden they get screwed?
Re: donate premium
no they get to finish up the month worth of premium. in other words after awhile yes, they are geting free premium they could scrap together 25 bucks and pay for a year if they like being premium.TheForgivenOne wrote:What happens if the user it was given to was in the middle of a big tournament, when the user pressed the "Stop giving premium" button? Re: donate premium
Scrapping up $25 isn't always the answer. There are youngin's on this site (As i'm sure you know) that have no way of getting premium. I know my parents would never, EVER have let me spend money on a gaming site. And "Getting a prepaid card" isn't the answer either.40kguy wrote:no they get to finish up the month worth of premium. in other words after awhile yes, they are geting free premium they could scrap together 25 bucks and pay for a year if they like being premium.TheForgivenOne wrote:What happens if the user it was given to was in the middle of a big tournament, when the user pressed the "Stop giving premium" button? Re: donate premium
perhaps some sort of deduction? You can give it to somebody, but they deduct 10% of the remaining time. you still get to give away your premium, but the rings described above would quickly find the transfer of premium to be a waste of money, greatly taxing the purchase.
Re: donate premium
if this is the case shouldn't people stop picking on them?TheForgivenOne wrote:Scrapping up $25 isn't always the answer. Re: donate premium
How would this be different (and problematic) when compared to players who purchase a full subscription for a fellow member?blakebowling wrote:IMO (and for the most part the shared opinion of CC Administration), gifting premium to some other members = good idea.

I understand how the business behind conquerclub wouldn't want to do this...the business would make less money. But if the games aren't going to be played...why not let someone else enjoy it?

Re: donate premium
There would be too many rules concerning how and when premium can be transferred, and IMO, if you buy your premium, that should be reason enough to stick with the game.Queen_Herpes wrote:How would this be different (and problematic) when compared to players who purchase a full subscription for a fellow member?blakebowling wrote:IMO (and for the most part the shared opinion of CC Administration), gifting premium to some other members = good idea.
