There is no addition of the 3 to the bonus, no idea why I put that there, it is only a minimum.

Just read the XML to check here is how it is working:

Regions < 6 - you get 3 troops.

Regions >=6
Subtract 6
Divide by 2 (round UP one if remainder)

Minimum troops is 3

Taking all examples listed above

Regions=25
25-6=19
19/2 = 10 (rounded up) so 10 in total

Regions=35
35-6=29
29/2 = 15 (rounded up) so 15 in total

Regions=24
24-6=18
18/2=9 so 9 in total

Regions=28
28-6=22
22/2=11 so 11 in total

Regions=33
33-6=27
27/2 = 14 (rounded up) so 14 in total

Regions=9
9-6=3
3/2 = 2 (rounded up) but there is a minimum of 3 so 3 in total.I will edit my last post to avoid confusion

thx chip for the clarification. =D>

I'm not convinced the legend matches up to the reality of the region bonus.

As it stands (and there are plenty of logs to support this), you cannot get more than 3 region bonus until you reach 13 regions
which is not what the legend implies.

This log shows 3 for 12 and 4 for 13 (which does match the maths I posted above)

I'm not sure if this is what was intended.

This is the way region number bonus should work in this case:

6 regions - 3 troops
8 regions - 4 troops
10 regions - 5 troops
12 regions - 6 troops

....and so on...

So, refering to the legend: 1 (extra) troop for each 2 regions above 6

This is not how the map is playing , then (see my post above).

You are getting currently

6 regions - 3 troops
8 regions - 3 troops
10 regions - 3 troops
12 regions - 3 troops
13 regions - 4 troops

And this is how I read the legend initially. So the legend is good, just a case of misguided XML.

I think XML would be fixed by having reinforcements range from 1 to total region count, with divisor 2. Add in a minimum reinforcement tag of 3 to it and that should fix everything?

Yes this works. I also think changing the legend to reflect the XML would help

+1 troop per 2 regions (minimum 3 troops)

right, and this is regardless of what territories you own? so, it could be 5 lands of LoW, 5 lands of Thota, 2 lands of Empire, thta is 12 lands or regions total, so should deploy 6 troops?
Is this right?

Kabanellas wrote:.... So we have an XML issue

yes, we do, and it does not give you troops for Manual settings, and Brethren does not get auto +3. Also, I think bunga's time is limited?

Additionally, to confirm, it's for all regions of the map, not just the clan regions (ie Landing Points, Pinnacle, Deep lands etc) Would even portals be a part of it? (even though they have their own bonus)
That was basically the impression I was given because I assumed it replaced the normal 3 regions bonus 8-[ but there are obviously varying factors

The manual I already queried with Lunar War map, and thats how I'm told it is supposed to be (ie a problem with manual as opposed to the map). Since I had a different scenario happen with Feudal war deploys (where they are deployable) etc I still would like clarification on it?

I am very confused by the "1 troop for every 2 regions above 6" statement. I see there is a bit of discussion about this already, but I don't have time to read it all. My main concern is that I currently have 10 territories (2 starting points and 8 "green" territories) and my "troops due" is 3. Any way I reason it I should have either 4 or 5 troops due.

In general, this map needs to explain the following:
-Does the regular +1 per 3 territories (min +3) bonus still apply separately, or does this +1 per 2 bonus override that (and also happens to have a minimum of +3)?
-Exactly what territories go toward this bonus (i.e. starting points, just "green" territories, deep land, portals).

This is the last update to the XML sent by ManBungalow. Hopefully the region number bonus will be fixed.

Neutrals map isn't right, there are additional territories on the map that do not start with 2.

I've noticed that and I was trying to find the time to check all that out..... I'll have to see all those past calculations and understand why they do (or don't) fit with the actual displacement...

I think there will still be some confusion because it will be interpreted as an extra bonus separate from the +1 per 3 (min +3) normal bonus. In that case, they will incorrectly expect to get 7 troops for 12 regions. I think the legend should read something like "+1 for every 2 territories instead of 3, min of +3". I think this says exactly what is mean and would not lead to as much confusion.

Why complicate what should be simple....

'Region Number Bonus' is what it is, everyone knows that usually, region number bonus will give 1 additional troop for each 3 regions above 9 (on a minimum of 3)

12 = 4
15 = 5
18 = 6
...

so when you read that the 'Region Number Bonus' will give you 1 troop for every 2 regions above 6 - it's pretty self-explanatory imo

8 = 4
10 = 5
12 = 6
14 = 7
...

I'm loving this map. You all have done a great job so thank you for that.

I'm curious though for 6-8 player games would it be possible to add the clan grounds as starting locations? This would give everyone two starting spots which in maps like this doesn't really happen, and would add another dimension to the strategy since the clan grounds can attack either way.

One other suggestion in 2 player games five starting spots seems like a lot, could that be capped at 3?
