I want to practice playing on Age of Wonders offline, because CC doesn't have an option where you can play games unrated (which I think is bizzare). I'm slow when it comes to understanding how resources are calculated and on these maps, after a couple of turns, my opponent has some 25 income and in the third turn, I'm dead, without even knowing what hit me.
What can I do in order to practice these maps offline? Is it even possible?

You could print off the map, and try playing with friends...Claudiu wrote:I want to practice playing on Age of Wonders offline, because CC doesn't have an option where you can play games unrated (which I think is bizzare). Are you kidding me? lolz
If I found that method attractive, I wouldn't be playing on my computer.

Check out the Strategy forum. There are some very good guides to the maps, with the complex bonus structure explained.Claudiu wrote:Are you kidding me? lolz

PM some of the map masters to play a couple games with/against you and show you the ropes.
Why practice offline? It's only CC points you would lose... Lose a few points to learn the map against some of the best, then use that knowledge to get your points back with interest.

Or just take your time to understand the map. You have 24 fucking hours per turn unless your playing speed, isn't that enough time for you?!?

Any need for the mindless swearing?JoshyBoy wrote:Or just take your time to understand the map. You have 24 fucking hours per turn unless your playing speed, isn't that enough time for you?!?
And i find the best way to learn maps like that is to risk lots of those lovely points and continually play till you grasp it.
Takes time and can be costly but it seems the most effective way
