Nothing guilty about that pleasure (unless you're Japanese). It's a cracking kung fu flick.tdans wrote:Ip man .

Col. Martin Hessler: Release the boy... Shoot the father!
Battle of the Bulge (1965). The most inaccurate account of that battle ever made of a war film. But for some reason I keep watching it whenever it comes on. With an all star cast of Henry Fonda, Charles Bronson, Robert Shaw and Telly Savalas this movie is entertaining just because of some of the lines and scenes shot. Whether it's watching the turret of Telly Savalas tank get blown clean off and him and his partner surviving and continuing to fight with a 30 caliber machine gun in hand or Robert Shaw being the ultimate Teutonic German officer it is an entertaining movie.

Re: Guilty pleasure movies
Finally figuring out my 3.
1. The Fifth Element - a vastly underrated movie. I love it, just watched it again (at work no less)
2. V - The Original Miniseries. So corny but so awesome.
3. Transpotting. I haven't watched it in forever but it really stuck with me.

I haven't seen V, but your other two choices are excellent movies. No guilt necessary.jakewilliams wrote:Finally figuring out my 3.

props on 1, ditto Timmy on 3. V is more of a cult classic than a guilty pleasure, but i'll let it slide simply for the cringe-worthy actingTimminz wrote:I haven't seen V, but your other two choices are excellent movies. No guilt necessary.jakewilliams wrote:Finally figuring out my 3.

Space Jam - I cant listen to Steve Miller Band without thinking of MJ walking out in UNC Blue...
Rush Hour - Constantly one of these are on TBS, and something about Chris Tucker's voice paralyzes me from changing the channel... "Y'all"...
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective - I can probably quote the entire movie straight through, ive seen it more times than I can count...

I like Space Jam too. But I have met quite a few people who really detest it though.rdsrds2120 wrote:Gold Knight wrote:Space Jam - I cant listen to Steve Miller Band without thinking of MJ walking out in UNC Blue...

1. Josie and the Pussy Cats-Tara Reid before she was a crack head
2. Midnight Madness-really bad 80's flick (used to own on VHS haven't seen in years now)
3. Anything Little House on the Prairie. (not a movie, but my wife still wonders why I have any interest in it)
4. Starman
5. Forrest Gump (maybe not a guity pleasure, but my wife cringes when she sees it on the guide, because if I flip to it, we are watching it.)
6. First Blood-see #5

I can't think of any off the top of my head, so I'll just select two I liked that other people mentioned.

I think I read that book when I was preteen, or thereabouts. I did see the film not too long ago, it definitely wasn't a pleasure.
Is the premise of a guilty pleasure movie that it is generally considerd to be a shit movie, but you like it anyway, or you think its a shit movie, but you still like it?
I adore the movie Watership Down, I think it rocks, so that would only be a guilty pleasure if its generally considered a piece of crap.
I really like the Back to the future trilogy, that would only fit under the general theory too. I'd be surprised if they're considered turds though, they were pretty popular.

Starship Troopers.
I know how much Heinlein would hate it, I know why, I agree at an intellectual level, I mutter to myself about how much is wrong with the movie every time I watch it. But I keep watching it...
