Re: Disciplinary actions
And do you know how much work this will give the Multi Hunters? People coming in here every single day filling up C&A with reports about "SO AND SO SAID THIS BAD WORD TO ME D: BAN HIM!"fusibaseball wrote:i know i completely disregarded the layout i was supposed to follow.
but, CC really needs to step up their disciplinary actions. more bans need to be put in place. CC isnt some garbage website thats all about cussin. CC needs to shape their image so that people loook at this club to be prestigious and highly thought of.
people cussin in game and live chat is not going to make that idea come true.
the only way to stop these people are bans. that is the only way people will learn. if the simple CC rules cant be followed punishment must be put into action.
i plan to work on a project that tells what the punishment is for certain broken rules.. tell me what you guys think!
They got enough work as it is, busting multi's, dealing with Secret Diplomacy, point dumping, etc etc. PLUS they have to contend with real lives, and.. they also play games on CC!
If people were banned in game chat, my bet is they would say screw this site and leave. People are unhappy enough with getting a ban from the forum, if they received bans for game chat, just because they cuss, my bet is they would leave in a heartbeat.
Perhaps you should develop a thicker skin? Or if you don't like that a person is cussing, you could Foe them, then they can't join your game.
And for Live Chat, put that person on ignore. /ignore "Username" Just replace Username with the persons name.

Re: Disciplinary actions
"Serious rule breaks" already do get reported here, as someone was just reported for bigotry. If you see extreme cases of bigotry, racism, or anything else most would find offensive you have the right to post it in here. You are not going to get curse words banned from this site, its already been tested and said they are allowed in almost all forms.fusibaseball wrote:im not talking about somebody saying "crap" in a game, im talking some of the more serious rule breaks, extreme cussin and most other rule breaks. and as far as the work load goes, im more than willing to do a great portion of it

Re: Disciplinary actions
Basically words suck as "f*ck" are accepted in the Game Chat and such, but if the cussing comes to the degree of bigotry or flaming/baiting, it's a problem and a C&A report should be filed immediately.

I am sure you will find that this attitude is what underlies the current CC forum guidelines regarding foul language.fusibaseball wrote:i just wanna make something clear..

Re: Disciplinary actions
If people feel greatly offended, don't they already file a C&A anywho? This seems redundant.radiojake wrote:This is a pretty ridiculous stance to take on the issue.fusibaseball wrote:i just wanna make something clear..

im saying that there should be a table that states the punishment for different rule breaks. so lets say somebody is reported for rascism, then then mods can look at the table and say 1st offence is a warning etc..
i am willing to make this chart if i get the ok by a mod
this is a really funny thread. if you want to feel important, just make a map.
i want to continue with a rant, but it will only end bad for me with a ban.
you could prolly use my ban reference in your rule book for banning. if you will let me be in your book, i will continue with some rant that you could use to speak of how i caught six months...
Re: Disciplinary actions
So basically what you're saying here is...I'm not going to follow the rules, but I want to make a post about people following the rules?fusibaseball wrote:i know i completely disregarded the layout i was supposed to follow.

Re: Disciplinary actions
Since this is not about reporting someone for cheating or abuse, I will be moving this topic to the Suggestions forum.

Re: Disciplinary actions
Of course it was personal ...it was directed at you and you are (alledegly) a PERSON...I don't think your six months of freemium warrants you coming in here with your stopwatch, abacus and cross and "cleansing" the site...pay your subscription or fight your damned crusades elsewhere
Re: Disciplinary actions
Whoa, I don't think fusibaseball was suggesting that CC monitor every gamechat or punish every swear word, I think the suggestion was more along the lines of having consistent punishments if someone is found to be guilty of breaking the rules, and to make sure the rules are adhered to.
CC seems to take its lead on rule-setting and punishments from the community. The rules exist to make sure that CC is a place that isn't riddled with offensive behaviour, but at the same time people can let off steam without being treated like a naughty schoolboy. If someone has broken the rules, including the common sense rule, then you can report it in the c&a forum. That way the community can comment, and a mod will decide whether a rule breach has occurred and what the consequences should be. As has already be stated, those consequences are published and are publicly available.
Your first post suggested that CC should lead the charge to 'clean up' the language here. I really can't see CC doing that without widespread community support, since the community are CCs customers and CC doesn't want to get our backs up.
If you have a suggestion on improving CC, then the suggestions forum (this one) is the place to put it. As CC relies on community opinions, an idea will usually need pretty good support in order to be progressed. Personally, I think the swearing issue has been pretty much settled for a while now, but if you have a new idea to share then you should post it and let the community comment.

Re: Disciplinary actions
All right. As an example I find this thread offensive. Like I explained to you on your wall I foed you in order to help prevent you from being offended by the occasional swear word my opponents like to sling at me after I break and hand their ass back to them.fusibaseball wrote:alright for example, this last post is offending. he is getting personal and isnt just swearing hes offfending me. and as far as the link whoever posted. that might be as least specific as you can get.. guys im not trying to turn CC into a dictatorship, im trying to make it more systematical and better
But to suggest discipline for a swear word if someone finds it offensive is ludicrous. You would be amazed at how many people will become offended (depending on who was doing the swearing).
This post was made by jefjef who should be on your ignore list.
