These are suspected Multis or secret alliance

Suspect users: lacrossse_addict and muffinman6632

Game number: http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=32189
http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=31625

Comments: In round 4 of Game 31625, blue owned Central north in the brazil map. Red (lacrosse_addict) started the round. One minute later blue (muffin) got his troops in. Two seconds after that, red deployed his troops and took central north from blue. From the timing proximity, the order of play, and the strategic play I suspect these are multis or in a secret alliance.

In game 31625, round 1, you can see how red (lacrosse) receives troops, blue (muffin) plays his turn, red plays his turn, blue ends round. Then red begins the next round. He also coordinated his red and blue turns at the end of round 2. It's kinda difficult to capture Ireland and North England so quickly as well.

theres no way these guys are multis, it is impossible to log out then log back in in 10 seconds. they are just friends who play at the same time and coordinate their attacks.

hi im muffinman

Postby muffinman6632 on Sun Jun 11, 2006 3:43 pm

hi, i see that im being accused as a multi... i am not doing that, u can check the names on my e-mail accounts or my account here and see that both accounts have the last name (baker) but different first names. i read the rules and i like this game alot aside from the fact the the attacting dice always do poorly. I wouldnt get a second account and risk getting kicked out. if u must know the truth, we not only know eachother, but are brothers, (hence the last name. dont u think id use 2 totally differnt first and last names if i was tryin to get away w/ multi? u could tie a last name like that together...) im teaching him how to play, so of course we'll play at the same time. i find it interesting to see that someone would sit around and check out other games to the point that they figure out that people played at the same time more than once...yippi, never seen that happen before. (it happens all the time) well any way, there u have it, we are related and no were not working together in brazil, its true that we helped e/o in british Isles, but it was mentined as a truce in the chat box there. if you seriously care enough about this to check it out then find the game and see for urself. nice talking to u...

It's really simple actually. Multis often play in the same game. All I have to do is check your games list, and viola, another game where you guys are playing together. I just don't like losing points to cheaters. In the Britain game, you guys announced the alliance after you already made it.

AK-iceman, I read somewhere that it is possible. Two browsers perhaps. (Redundant point though :P)

True. But in a non-doubles game, isn't that the same as a secret alliance?

Didnt notice they were standard games. that is suspicious of a secret alliance but not multis

It is quite possible that you can log out and in again in 10 seconds, if you have a fast connection, and you can either type very quickly or use autocomplete. I just don't buy it that they are brothers, people use it too much, although admittedly that does tend to cover it up when they are really brothers, so I wouldn't rule it out.

lol, either way, they are breaking some rule.

If you think about it, a multi is kinda like a secret alliance with oneself

Well... you know, I understand that pilate is a tad bit upset. There are at least two reasons.

1. If it's true that you two didn't notify other players about your alliance in a game before it began, that is a violation against the rules.

2. Even if you don't have an alliance, you two may unconsciously help each other, being somewhat lenient on each other. That’s unfair and is correctly perceived so. You may say that you’re not lenient in this way, but if you’re brothers and you’re teaching him how to play etc. Well, it may be difficult to know what your ego, super-ego and id are up to all the time.

3. If you DO enter into an alliance according to the rules, again you may have a subconscious preference to agree to an alliance with your brother. Would you as easily team up against your brother with other players as you would team up with him? I would think not, your id won’t allow for that. Blood is, after all, thicker than water.

There are two easy ways to avoid upsetting pilate and others here.

1. Don’t play single games together with your brother.

2. Only play double and triple games with your brother.

I hope you didn't include me in that statement. I was just trying to be helpful here explaining to you why it's problematic playing singles with one's brother. You're not alone doing this. There are a lot of friends and relatives playing here. But if you just follow my two pointers no one will bother you about it.

And it is actually pretty important. Most people in here finds CC entertaining, it's a fun thing to do now and then. But sportsmanship is necessary here. If that goes down the drain, there's no point in playing CC.

Actually, the question is why are you being so defensive? CC has rules. If you suspect someone of breaking those rules you fill out the form. As part of that form you have to give a good reason why you think someone broke those rules. This is because we don't want to accuse people of cheating for no reason.

And that's what I did. You're the one who got so worked up and started insulting other people. I'm not sure how you can be so upset about being accused of breaking the rules AND criticize me for looking for solid proof of you doing so.

He may be your brother, but you are a jerk.

OK, so the verdict on this one was that it looks fishy but is possibly/probably infact relatives playing in the same house and/or on the same computer.

As a precaution they have been blocked from playing against eachother to ensure that there is no foul play going on. Sorry that you guys can't play together or against eachother now, I hope you agree that it's the fairest we can be to you and the rest of the community at the same time.
