Strain your Brain in Battle for Iraq! [WINNER: killboy108]

Postby TheCrown on Fri Nov 05, 2010 2:55 pm

This is the tricky map series, #2. FOR PLAYERS WHO HAVE NEVER WON MORE THAN 1 CC TOURNEY AND HAVE COMPLETED LESS THAN 500 GAMES. Looking for rookies here, like myself. O:)

16 player tourney, so sign up and be randomly assigned into 1 of 4 brackets.

You be playing the map in the subject line.
Standard
Automatic
Sequential
Chained
Foggy
Flat Rate - for the 4 person games
No Spoils - for all 1 vs. 1

Round 1: The tourney starts by playing a 4 person game with those in your bracket, in the map of the tourney. The winner of this game will get 5 points.

Round 2: Then, you take what you learned about your opponents and play each of them 1 vs. 1, scoring 3 points per victory. **Bonus: you will get a bonus point if you win your 1 vs. 1 game and you were not the one to go 1st. There is a possible 12 points here.

Round 3 (Vortex Round): The top 2 tourney point people from each bracket go into the vortex. The top 4 out of 8 point holders get to choose their opponent out of the bottom 4 point holders, in order of highest picks 1st. If there are ties, I will flip a coin or roll a dice. You will then play your next vortex buddy 1 vs. 1, in a best out of 3 series, which you must win at least 2 to advance.

Round 4 (Semi-Vortex Round): The 4 remaining souls add the points from the last round to their totals. This time, only the point leader picks his/her opponent, the others just play each other. This round is also 1 vs. 1, best of 3 and you need to win at least 2 to advance.

Round 5 (Championship Round): Best of 5 for the title of: Brainiac. 8-) At least 3 victories and you have won.

Group 1:
1. Faro - 3 points - ELIMINATED
2. darkbluesky - 5 + 3 + 4 = 12 - ELIMINATED
3. Clacie - 3 points - ELIMINATED

For someone that has won 33 of 44 games on Iraq for a 75% win rate--I do not consider you a rookie at all and nor should other players you are taking advantage of
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.

It's my first tournament to hopefully get off the ground, so go easy on me.

I am just bitter because I don't get to play

I have to agree with Highlander this looks like your setting yourself up to win a tournament by selecting only those that you know you can beat.

You have a 71% win on this map with a lot of games. Heck you have a higher rank than me.

Maybe you should make the tournament for only cooks and yourself.

Make it fair and include anyone.

Uh, ok. I've lost about 15 times on this map and happen to think it belongs in the "strain your brain" catagory, since it is a little more difficult.

It's not the only tournament I'm putting on, so don't join if you don't want to.

In please, another very interesting map... I got trounced last time I played on this, but that was a 4v4 fog of war unlimited reinforcement game... it was brutally fast.
